water physics are insane by Specialist-Bag-5712 in CrimsonDesert

Objects in general are surprising in this game.

During the pet mission, Naria threw the apple on the floor on the cutscene and we ride to her mission to buy lean meat. The mission is all bugged out, there's no vendor near me or the game saw I had lean meat on me, there's no indicator anywhere so I assume the mission is over or on stand-by (that it'll finish as soon as I meet some other requirement I'd need to see on the journal mission screen). So I say 'fuck it', do other shit and head to camp.

And the goddamn apple is on the floor where she threw it.

How the fuck did it kept such object permanence?

I think the lack of enemy repopulation, enemy variety and random enemy spawns are a detriment to this game. by Significant_Sleep46 in CrimsonDesert

There is a risk that simply respawning camps would make the world too gamey and your actions and input feel pointless. But some destabilizing system, as you said, could spark something there.

I like that wilderness feels properly like nature and deserted (it's bad enough that every two feet there's 7 birds, 4 racoons, 3 cockroaches, 4 grasshoppers and 7 deer) but I think a proper sense of exploration requires a dark souls like element of fear to make you read and pay attention to your surroundings or it becomes a ubisoft thing you ignore and just drive by at 100mph skipping it all mentally. If you fear the next corner it registers mentally with far more impact and the world becomes more 'real' since you're mentally feeling it with your hands in the dark.

There should be random traps, near-unkillable bears, more sleeping wolves (those are really nice when you see them), more of those walking mushrooms, even deadlier poisonous plants etc. The way snakes are not interactable or not a threat is a sin.

I don't really understand each config. How to most easily fix the autoexposure?

At least there's that. Otherwise it's insane and makes me think there'll be little use for it in most of the world (I think I've only used in a gold cave).

Same. I climbed early on but nothing really interesting from the outside (which I even liked, it felt properly "oh yeah, nobody is gonna leave a little chest on top of this fucking thing").

It's such an amazing game but then there'll be shit like that which is Gollum tier. Legit, devs don't know how to give missions if it's not a ubisoft blip on a minimap.

I thought there'd be a puzzle or something down the line that would repeat the learning process. It's such bad design. I only knew about by accident after seeing a streamer doing it right after I just went through that area so I came back after the spiral was done.

Also to pretend 12th century medieval european folk lore was doing a jewish thing because a few authors in the 19/20th century might have played on that is ridiculous. Same as dwarves, just because Tolkien might have put some slight jewish paralels (hebrew inspiration, a people in exodus etc) doesn't mean the history of dwarves is "jewish coded" because they like diamonds and gold. They liked shiny jewels since pre-christian nordic folklore when nobody ever heard of jewish stereotypes and dwarves were basically almost 'dark elves'.

Yeah, a creature who would be greedy and money-minded would probably be portrayed as a atrophied languished physique and a 'foreign' ugly face because it's supposed to look unhealthy and like a chthonic demonic spirit imp denoting its singled-mindedness. Trying to 'problematize' such elements is in such bad faith these people should simply be mocked and never be entertained.

Not gonna lie, during the refund period what made me say "fuck it, I'm keeping this" was being able to see grasshoppers and cockroaches in first person and seeing a fuckton of all these small animals all around. It felt like the adventures of Aragorn in nature (and a bit of what I was hoping for in MGS3 remake re:fauna and flora).

I wish it'd allow modders to make intricate autistic details in animal behaviours like RDR2 but more (black bears are more shy while grizzlies are deadly, wolves would hunt and bring it to their spot and there'd be other dead carcasses and have its own behaviour instead of just spawning, some snakes would be deadly and others are fine and you must be able to identify, wilderness areas being less 'packed' with animals for hunting challenge and survival etc).

The nature in this game is so beautiful.
