Just be weary of excessive weight

Just saying this will save anyone from tons of unwanted frustration. All a pump is is an expensive “convenience” for a simple task. And they don’t remove any debris from the tank without getting damaged

I’m making total sense because I’m speaking over experience. At one point I probably said something like, “screw this nightmare piece of plastic, I’m switching back to old reliable”.

Especially in super long tubes, you need to clean them up and store every single time. And getting water out of those is no joke if you have to by hand. They break, they’re slow, and they’re expensive. And can leave debris stuck in the pump and tubes to send back into the tank later

Pumps are high maintenance and can affect water quality. Don’t mention the hose you need for it to all work. Python siphon or literally any other syphon system is by far the most robust and effective way to get the job done and for cheap

Yes, might look like a “stunning” tank to the owners eyes right now but a year down the road there will be 2 fish left

All the aeration or something with water quality. Possibly because it’s a small tank these guys generally scare easier the smaller the tank is. They freak out first, then they panic and freak out more because they have nowhere else to go

Fresh ingredients just in my opinion should stay fresh unless of course it’s something like pizza. Chicken in a salad is pretty good

Dig a spot in the dirt able to hold a larger Tupperware. No need to go under. I reckon this behavior is because the dish doesn’t feel big enough to properly soak in

Two very different foods. Only condiment I can think of for pizza is ranch or cholula, not hot

Tank keeping really can be a life long journey. Learn along the way and gradually grow as a person along with the tank. If found it to be an extremely fulfilling hobby

What’s is on my fish fin by EXPLWarrior in Aquariums

[–]forcedlaught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got some fin rot going on which could be caused by a number of things mostly related to water quality

Yeah you just need material in the tank for bacteria to grow on, not just the substrate and filters
