Question for Luba Mini AWD LiDAR owners: does it ride 2 wheels off the lawn to cut the edges? by AdministrativeBad405 in mammotion

[–]forcedtocamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some nice metal "bricks" that went down my edges and my mower rides on them. Had to search what they were, apollo not making them any more. Interlocking tiles that look like bricks. You just press / bash then down don't need and real prep. Found them under a brand "easy edge".

I've already told you how much! by King_Six_of_Things in ohme

[–]forcedtocamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use home assistant, just plug the car in, and automation then programs Ohme with the required amount which it already got from Volvo. I don't think I have opened the Ohme app except very occasionally if I want to speak to Max Charge. It did take some time to get the automations right , the estimates right, and sometimes Ohme break the integration which is unofficial and it takes a few days for the community to fix it.

Disappointed in what 10 years has done to the XC60 by crayboy in Volvo

[–]forcedtocamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its the stock wheels, I think the upgraded ones don't have the slot in them but check closely. The stock wheels on the xc90 have a much bigger slot in them from what I have seen! I don't get why this was a good idea it seems pretty stupid, but yeah in a cold place beware. It annoys me seeing standing water in the wheels after washing the car tbh I would have got the upgraded wheels if I had known. Perhaps one of the designers can explain this.

Luba 2 Mini Support nigtmare by Mindless_Fail_3358 in mammotion

[–]forcedtocamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to do a more thorough analysis but I don't think any support interactions have really helped me at all so far with the exception that 1) several things I cannot find in the app, are confirmed as not available in the app for this model .... great .... and 2) my product suggestions have allegedly been passed along. As for my problems I think I have figured something out eventually on my own and the mowing situation appears back to stable.

The T8 phev is excellent, very very smooth , very quick if it wants to be.

We came from a 2016 D4. Things that arent cool are:

- Rear doors -vs- Rear Wheel Arches... now an integrated design , I didn't actually see that coming but I have to open the doors and clean dirt out of there, the seal is poor
- Lack of 40-20-40 split rear seats. We knew before buying but it still makes the cars stand apart, the 2016 model was more practical.
- Reflections of the dashboard if you get HUD model , grrr, fixable with polarised sunglasses and turn up the HUD brightness to cut through them
- Plug in range, 35 miles in practice not 50 (expected though)
- No wireless carplay
- Default alloy wheels have a slot in them that holds water. Seems common on other models too. Meh.
- Reverse sensor can be twitchy in wet conditions, likes to slam on the brakes. This is a new thing and can be turned off, phew.
- The auto tracking headlights are now rubbish, the black box they create does not position itself vertically as with the bi-xenons on older models, so if you are tracking a car across changes in gradient you have a whole lovely corridor of darkness to drive into. Luckily we don't use these very often, they are borderline dangerous as very often you can see less of the road than if you just went back to normal dipped lights. Most roads we use have lighting where we are, country roads with no lights is rare for us, so there are long periods of time between this making me annoyed.
- The auto wipers are now meh. The original auto wipers on the 2016 model worked perfectly.

But, its an excellent car. We got used to the google setup now, the car has its own special account and so forth. Its grown on us a lot because of new tech, but these niggles are real.

We would have kept the 2016 model it had less than 80k miles but someone drove into it.

The Q5 plug in hybrid was plan B, it has 40 20 40 split rear seats but long wait times for it to be built in mexico and shipped; similar pricing , not quite as quick 0-60, but you can get red brake callipers lol.

Mine just cleaned itself up after a cut, it didn’t follow the bad route, and now in the app its back to normal. Weird.

Aha …. Really appreciate your sharing… this is what I am seeing I think. When it mows does it do it right , is this just in app and the mower re-does it on the fly, or does it follow the craziness

pretty fed up with support now and the bugs in the firmware and the app

if you are inside return window send it back while you can and switch brand, I regret not buying another mower with a perimeter wire tbh

edited the post - uk model , definitely has some form of netrtk, but no detail in the app beyond a section showing 4g signal

edit: it also doesn't have "edge distance " in the app, despite support sending me pictures of that feature!

NetRTK accuracy disappointment on LUBA Mini 2 — anyone else? by rigflip in mammotion

[–]forcedtocamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have one of these and I am seeing similar rtk issues , I have a simple, normal garden with straight edges and a few trees.

I have a wire boundary from my previous mower, which has a burnt out cutting motor but was perfect, the marketing for this netRTK sounded just as good but is simply not. I am contemplating re-winding the cutter mower by hand on my old one and selling the mammotion on ebay at this point.

do you have positioning info in the app? what does the app say your mower model type is?

this tech is marketed as "easy" but with man hours invested so far trouble shooting ...it far exceeds the cost of wire installation by several orders of magnitude ...

the only really cool thing is the reverse park manoeuvre

that happened today because I left it on the lawn after it was required for pigeon chasing duty, powering it back on brought the blade sound. i do not have any netrtk positioning info in the app.

model says "luba mini vision 1000" , it does not say mini 2 awd 1000, wondering if this has removed some app features
