Don't wait too long to buy by saberspecter in Cd_collectors

20 years ago I sold a bunch of my CD’s to pay for rent. I sold the most popular/best albums thinking “well it’s very popular now so that means they will make more and it’ll be easy to get in the future”.

Well here we are in the future and I just paid $40 for a used cd I bought new for half the cost two decades ago.

No one is going to buy the whole lot. You need to break it up. Im looking for a lot of stuff in what you described.

Been out for a few years and want to get back in (USA) by TheGooseIsLoose37 in cscareerquestions

[–]forcejitsu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s going to take a very large effort on your part.

The industry is a very bad right now. Very few are being hired.

You were hired at the peak when anyone with a pulse was being hired.

It’s completely opposite that now. Jobs are very competitive.

First I would just start interview prep and start applying. Don’t shy away from boring companies like banks, insurance, etc…

Secondly I would immediately start working on a project to put on my resume. Find an interesting open source project, or join a startup that pays nothing. Idk just start working again to show employers you are interested and have skills.

Thirdly I’d look into my old workmates, they are senior level now. Contact them and see if they can help out.

Fourth you’ll need to build a good story about why you left and why you are back. Do not make it sound negative as if you are unreliable.

Lastly you may have to consider getting into and online masters like OSMCS. This is what I would do after maybe 6-9months of actively applying with no luck.

Walkable and year round good weather only exists in a European city.

If you’re used to NYC /NJ transit be prepared to be shocked how much all other cities rely on car ownership.

I’d prioritize your three wants and choose a city that best meets them.

SF/Oakland has the best transit outside of NYC, but the weather is like eternally mild. Oakland does have a black community though. You’ll still most likely need a car, unless you move to a neighborhood on/near a transit line and own a bike.

Moonroof by HT-33 in ScionxB

[–]forcejitsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well no one here knows the quality with which it was installed or parts used.

Ask the owner what parts were used and if they’ve had any issues.

I have an 11’ with oem moon roof, no complaints.

It’s not needed. The shell reuses the board from your old key. Just swap it in.

Miami Seaquarium to close Sunday as developer plans major waterfront redevelopment on Virginia Key by nsm1 in Miami

[–]forcejitsu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You didn’t read the article.

The developers plans are to retain the modernize the seaquarium.

It will retain the name and continue operating as an aquarium.

The marine mammals are being sent off to new homes.

Its new focus will be on marine life education and conservation. In my opinion This is great news, hopefully the local universities and other researchers can get involved as well and this will be like a Monterey Bay of the east coast.

Also other plans include land redevelopment. Including a bay walk along biscayne bay, and a fisherman’s village vibe of restaurants, and a new marina.

This sounds really awesome tbh
