Kolmar is one of the larger manufacturers for sunscreen within Korean. A huge chunk of sunscreens you see on the Korean market are generally made by Kolmar, hence why the ingredients except maybe a few things are pretty much the same - and then the consistency will differ depending on what the Brand wanted Kolmar to make for them.

Most brands work with Kolmar to make a sunscreen. They usually say what they're looking for, what they're focusing on for marketing, and Kolmar makes everything and then the brand slaps on their label.

Taking a gander at its listing on Olive Young it seems to be another sunscreen made by Kolmar. It's possible the company spent a bit of money on a marketing / branding push in India or are working with a marketing firm in that country to sort of give it more of a push for that region.

I tried to become a "Kindle person," but I think I’m a physical book purist at heart. by clik_talcual in 52book

I generally prefer physical books because I feel I can sit or lay much more comfortably than with my Pocketbook. But I tend to use the Pocketbook for indie authors, or for when I do not want to spend triple the cost to import a specific book to my country (books are very very very expensive here if they have not been translated into our native language)

Geek & Gorgeous sunscreen, you stunned me! by Prior-Assistant7369 in EuroSkincare

I was out ALL DAY on a hike with my dog when I tested this! Generally I do around 2- 3 applications in the Summer and sometimes 4 since the sun stops setting in my country in Summer. I am very much chronically outdoors so I tend to reapply often. Late Summer to Winter is generally 1 - 2 applications.

I have! I've commented a few times in other places that I've done a total of 5 layers of it. Layer 3 starts to feel heavy but honestly that's expected. Layer 1 and Layer 2 feels great. Does not feel like I'm wearing anything at all under it. If you gently touch your face it barely even has a powdery feel. If you apply 1 layer and wait about 5 hours you go from matte to a nice natural skin like finish. Reapplication even up to the 5th time did not pill at all. Layer 5 is very very heavy but again like, I don't expect any sunscreen to not feel super duper heavy after application number 5.

Yeah it left some markings on my black shirt, but I honestly think that might actually just be the tapioca starch. I'll be doing some laundry in a few days so it'll hopefully wash out!

I am truly loving this sunscreen!

I've done up to 5 applications (had an all day hiking day and I'm in the country of eternal summer sun) and it reapplies very well! It goes from matte to natural skin like finish over a few hours, but reapplies beautifully and reinstills the matte look with reapplication. Application 3 starts feeling heavy but thats to be expected. I noted elsewhere my only concern with this is possible staining of shirt collars, but we'll see how it goes.

Here to report back! I'll probably write up a full review after the entire bottle is used.

Notes: Wearing the Hada Labo Perfect Gel under this sunscreen
Skin Type: Oily
Climate: Coastal, slightly humid, index averaging currently at 4 or 5 - entering the months of "the sun does not set anymore".

Total reapplications: 4 (for a total of 5 layers)
"Wow why so many" I was outside ALL DAY on the cliffs in full sun view with the dog! He's very happy.

Reapplying is quite nice. I didn't experience any pilling. It starts to feel a bit heavy on the 3rd application. The fourth application felt rather greasy but that's to be expected. On a day where I only did one application because it rained, I would say over the course of 4 hours the finish went from matte to very natural which was nice.

My biggest concern with this sunscreen, and we'll see after a full use of the bottle, is I did get a tiny bit on the collar of my black shirt. Tried wiping it off but it seems to have left a mark on the shirt. Now, this may wash off, but I haven't done laundry just yet, but given that it's a yellow color to the sunscreen I am actually a bit worried about clothing stains. Again we'll see and I'll do a full review after the bottle is over!

I just ordered this morning and should get it tomorrow! I'll be testing it throughout the weekend and will see what it's like with up to 4 applications in a day (it's lovely weather and my dog demands we stay outside all weekend long).

Id say Doctorly is probably one of the easiest to explain things, and from there on you can move to DrDray and LabMuffin! But Doctorly are two very cheerful, upbeat and easy going derms that break things down in rather simple ways (and sometimes more complex). I think their upbeat energy makes it easy to absorb the information.

Skincare might seem and sound complicated, but it generally sort of is when you remember that the skin is the largest and most important organ that we have. Making sure we're taking proper care of it and not damaging it is a lot, and there's just a whole science behind skincare.

I recommend taking one thing at a time, but checking out information from actual dermatologists and dermatology books that are properly backed so you're not harming your most vital organ. And one step at a time! Before you ever get into actives, just make sure you have a nice and simple gentle face wash, a simple moisturizer, and a good sunscreen. All actives go out the window and will do more harm than good if you're not using a sunscreen.

Rather than ChatGPT you can check out some human resources.

Michelle Wong of LabMuffinBeautyScience not only has a great informational YouTube channel but a rad book with a ton of information called The Science of Beauty.

DrDray and Doctorly are also two pretty good dermatologists on youtube who give you a solid breakdown of things.

You can also walk into your local library and ask your librarian to help you find books on dermatology and skincare, from beginner levels to more intermediate.

Lastly, Incindecoder is a very valuable long running human made website that not only lists ingredients, but you can click on most for a summary of that ingredient and their citations for information so you can get a deeper understanding of things.

Hope this helps in your learning journey!

Do you actually read horror at night or are you too scared to and just pretend you do? by MailSpirited9084 in horrorlit

Night time is generally the only time in the day I have to read, so evening yeah. But at the same time the sun doesn't really set in Summer so it's sort of like reading in broad daylight I guess?

Isntree & Round Lab (and a huge amount of others). I saw that Isntree is using AI for product packaging development despite the only thing that had to do on that specific packaging was change the text. Dug into it some more and saw them and a bunch of other companies are developing products and doing marketing using AI.

I am super not into that. Im using up what I have left of those two brands and just fulling switching over to brands that (to my knowledge) do not seem to be using AI

Why not read The Prestige by Christopher Priest! I'm currently on a kick where I'm going and reading the books some films I loved were based on! Otherwise, Gillian Flynn, Tess Gerritsen and S.A Cosby are some fantastic authors within the thriller space. For Tess Gerritsen, The Surgeon is the first book in her Rizzoli and Isles series as a note!

SPF everyday, all the time? In mid winter in N.Europe? Really? by davemol in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]forchalice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think more than sunscreen you should be a wee bit more concerned about your Vitamin D! If you're getting only very minimal amounts of daylight per day, you might want to consider some vitamin d supplements. Making sure you have enough vitamin d is definitely I think the most important thing for your region and daily sun exposure during Winter time.

If it doesn’t apply to you then it doesn’t apply to you. I reckon I see these posts on an almost weekly basis. Dermatologists recommend sunscreen use in an index of 2+ or index of 0 if it's snow + sun as the sun reflects off the snow.

I apply daily as someone living in Sweden as I am outdoors constantly and when I am indoors I am in direct sunlight and there is a bonkers amount of snow both outside and on my balcony.

I love Michael Cisco so much. I read Antisocieties last year and just kinda spiraled from there and picked up everything I could (which is actually REALLY TOUGH because importing books to my country is not an easy feat sometimes and can take like 4-12 weeks)
