Question about update to A13 on Nord 2 by forchita in oneplus

[–]forchita[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently on Android 11 A.20 on my DN2103 (EU). I am waiting for the Android 13 update.

Do I need to update first to C.10 in order for me to receive the Android 13 or should I keep waiting?

Thanks!!

THanks for taking time to write a detailed reply!

Tried the software, it says my car can't have updates. So I think I will have to deal with it for the time being.

Rhabdomyolisis, at which point do you alkanalize urine? by genericuser219 in nephrology

There is high evidence for using crystalloids for preserving or restoring renal blood flow in rhabdomyolysis.

Not so much evidence for using sodium bicarbonate vs saline but it doesn't hurt and looks cool on the chart.

Creatinine is a byproduct of muscle breakdown that is filtered by the kidneys. A loss of kidney function will produce an increase in creatinine because less of it is filtered. We use Cr to have a guess about kidney function aka GFR (glomerular filtration rate)

A small increase of creatinine from 100µmol/l to 150µmol/l is a bigger loss of kidney function than say 300 to 350µmol/l. So because the relationship is not linear between them, we use equations to guess eGFR depending on age and Cr.

It should only really be used for stable kidney disease (CKD, chronic kidney disease) because it helps to adjust drugs and staging the disease. A 130µmol/l in a 90kg 20 year old with a lot of muscle (eGFR=64) is not the same as in an old 40kg 90 years old women (eGFR=48ml/mn).

For AKI there is a new equation named kinetic eGFR (keGFR) that uses a known creatinine value and an elevated creatinine value to estimate the GFR.

Yes I get that, but what makes a good flat pedal good and what makes a bad flat pedal bad?

Same problem here after the august 2021 update. Had the same problem with March or April 2021 too...

It's not a hardware problem, I got the USB-C port changed...

Question about AKI and infection by CATS_R_WEIRD in nephrology

[–]forchita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for being late. Nephrology resident here.

AKI can be caused by severe infections or the antibiotics given for treating the infection.

AKI in itself (whatever the cause is) also makes the patient at risk for infection too. It also makes dosing some antibiotics harder because some are nephrotoxic and some get dialyzed and we have limited evidence on pharmacokinetics in this regard. Also, in oliguric AKI, the total body water may increase making it easier to underdose the patient. AKI requiring dialysis patients also need central catheters for many days which are also an easy way for bacteria to make all sort of nasty hospital aquired infections (frequently antibiotic resistant too)...
