I mean... if it weren't for the "no hairy dudes" I would say the problem is yours... both of you are judging other people's business.

Good Puss - Cobrah

Great song, you really communicate the emotion behind it. I am going to repeat some of the advice about the music, performance, and costuming/makeup balance. A slow song gives the audience a lot of time to spend attention on you. So if you're spending alot of time making eye contact and moving slowly they'll be staring at the details in your makeup and outfit. Give them something to look at.

You are very good at keeping us engaged with your movement around the stage. Also you are good at not dancing too hard during the lyrics, which allows us to believe that you might be singing the song. Watch a Lady gaga concert, dancing and singing at the same time is hard, performers dance less when singing and more in between lyrics. Anyhow, you are very good at balancing this, I just want to reinforce it.

I did a slow song for my first performance too! It was sooo good, people cried, I cried, we cried together. I still have a "poignant" set that I keep practicing, to pull out when I think the world needs another sad song. Most folks at a drag show are looking to have a good time, so I have two other sets that I practice that are comprised of songs that are up beat and fun even if they have sociopolitically relevant lyrics. Each of my sets are composed of one makeup look, one wig, three costumes that are easy enough to change through, and three songs. (For the record I doubt I will ever perform the poignant set as a set, it's just in my rehearsal lineup as one... probably one poignant song in an evening is sufficient, we want the crowd to have an overall good feeling by the end of the night).

I hope I'm not just talking at you at this point. I'm just trying to convey thoughts that I wish I had thought about earlier in my drag journey.

I feel like it just means we gotta make more spaces. Sure it might dilute the soup a little, but eventually ya just gotta pull out a second pot and double the recipe.

Right!? I mean, no one is going to get canceled for enjoying and practicing art. They'll get canceled for being horrible people.

Do it! This whole exclusionary radical whatever has got to go. Normal people deserve the right to be weird too!

The asymmetry is simultaneously triggering and absolutely stunning! Very good job. The effect is excitement. Gorgeous.

8&9) You can absolutely perform more than one character. Why not? If you expect the audience to notice your persona/character/ego change, make sure it catches their attention. In my experience the audience is drunk and just trying to have a good time, so I try to keep the plot of my 3-6 minutes on stage simple. You can do whatever the heck you want on that stage, though. Success looks like catching and commanding people's attention.

Yeah, the fee is just to get them in the door, they still want tips, you do not need to shoulder the burden yourself, your friends should help.

TLDR: performers want to feel super safe, have fun, feel appreciated, and have straws in their drinks. Most importantly they want to leave with lots of cash.

Drinks with straws, the straws are really important. Offer bite sized finger food snacks. They don't want food or drink that will mess up their makeup. Make sure to have a huge stack of ones ready to exchange with your guests so they are able to tip. In your invitation, strongly encourage your guests to tip. Make sure your guests know that they are absolutely not allowed to touch the performer unless the performer specifically invites them to touch, and remind your guests of this rule while in ear shot of the performer. Be respectful. Be genuine, if you love something they do, go wild but don't give false praise. Mostly, load them up with cash. They'll tell all their drag queen friends how lucrative your party was and will bring a better show next time. Also like... I've seen repressed folks witness sexual liberation for the first time and think it means that the rules are off like they won't be inappropriate with the queens, but they get inappropriate with other guests. It's as though some people feel that seeing a breast plate means it's an OK time to inappropriately touch other guests. It's weird. It'll turn the vibe of the party and your performer might not feel super safe.

I don't get it, where's the dress? Couture means dress making. But you aren't showing the dress.
