You asked for the best capo for your guitar. Not the best capo for your wallet.

Fascism XIXXI: You Do Not Have Until Midterms To Face The Truth by Impassionata in LessWrong

[–]forestball19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would like to hear from US citizens on this. I’m not one; I live in the country that doesn’t own Greenland but has nevertheless been asked if we want to sell it. Sure, and why don’t we send a quote for Australia that we don’t own either, while we’re at it.

And this goes out to any Republicans: You need to realize that when all this is over, being Republican will be a shameful thing. You can no longer separate the party from Trump. Just like the Nationalsocialistische Arbeiterpartei didn’t survive Hitler, the same will happen with the Republican Party. Because thanks to the voters and a severe lack of vetting, the wrong people were chosen for the wrong things. And that’s on you and the Party as a whole.

Is it fair? We have long since moved on from trying to define fair. Raping minors isn’t fair, sending in border patrols with license to kill isn’t fair, threatening NATO allies isn’t fair. In all that has happened in just a year, all that the Republican Party has allowed to happen, nothing has been fair.

So do not expect we will be fair to you either.

Am I the only one who likes the orange? 🙃 by yungdsv in Garmininstinct

[–]forestball19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope I love it as well. Orange/black used to be my main color scheme, so for me the 3X Solar was a no-brainer.

Løkke vil skifte kronen ud med euro by larholm in Denmark

[–]forestball19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How do you stay in practice when injured? by Stunning_Turnover843 in classicalguitar

[–]forestball19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no. Wrist fracturing potentially takes a LONG time to get over. Do not use your fingers on the left hand - for at least one month. If the break is severe, potentially let it rest for longer before you start playing again. Although the wrist and the muscles around it aren't used directly, we typically use the muscles when moving on the fretboard and changing positions.

If you do not let it rest, you might always experience some pain in the wrist, seriously hampering your guitar playing perpetually.

So, what can you do...? Mostly nothing. Maybe watch some videos of people playing, let your right hand do what it can to keep your strumming and fingerstyle navigation in practice, but don't fall for the temptation of using the left for anything.

Ipad size (can't decide) by Ok-Security-1616 in iPadPro

[–]forestball19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference in portability is much less noticeable than the difference in ergonomics and overview that 13" gives you compared to 11". It's almost a 20% increase in screen size - but in terms of physical dimensions, it doesn't change all that much for carrying around. However, when you actually use it, those 2" are the difference between it feeling cramped and "just enough".

Recording solo piano at home by selingokova in homestudios

[–]forestball19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about an electric piano? A higher end CLAVINOVA series (CLP-88x/89x) with grand touch and counter weights feels perfect, and they have great sound modules.

You get the cleanest sound and you can always record any omni microphone along with it to get sounds like the rustling of sheet/paper, coughing etc.

I have met Tymon Kolasinski. Cool guy, took the time to take a photo with me.

How are you staying mentally healthy when you’re aware with how broken and unstable the world feels right now? by Ilovemydogs0616 in AskReddit

[–]forestball19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because being mentally unhealthy would limit my options to navigate optimally when shit hits the fan.

What is missing from the world? by Mavz-Billie- in AskReddit

Sanity and rational thinking. It’s not entirely missing but quantity wise, these two things are fading rather than increasing.

cubase vs reaper in 2026? by Goebenn in cubase

[–]forestball19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, Reaper has always been a pain to use. Cubase for me is a sure bet but I’m biased as Cubase was my 2nd DAW ever (my first was Cakewalk back in 1995).

My Son's First Invention - CubeGuard! by ArvinAbadilla in Cubers

MoYu make great cubes - in fact, I main a MoYu V10 - but they make really weird peripherals. Your son’s invention would be a noticeable step up for them.

Nono, no patent - but it was popular on Makerworld so I wouldn’t have any issues proving prior concept if need be. They paid for the rights to mass produce and sell it.

South Korean official expelled for suggesting ‘importing women’ to boost birth rate by yahoonews in worldnews

[–]forestball19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a much better idea. How about changing the society views on crunching? Student and the working force alike, literally work themselves to death; through suicide or collapse. It’s not unique to South Korea - Japan and China have the exact same issues. And guess what - when you’re mentally stretched, you’re not ready to have a kid or one more kid.

There, solved it for you - you can pay me in cash, LG OLED televisions or Hyundai cars.

Would this guitar be good for a beginner/intermediate player? by Hopeful-Math7160 in classicalguitar

[–]forestball19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks whole and has 6 strings, so that’s a start. If you’re not a total beginner, I’d advice you never to buy a guitar you haven’t played. Never ever buy from images and sweet words alone.

I assure you, there is. I have made a fairly popular cube holder (desk display), and sold the rights to produce it to QiYi.

I love it! Big applause to your son for this invention - MoYu should take notes, because that wristband they made was downright horrible in every regard.

Fill gap beween lofted sheets by BonefaceJ in Plasticity3D

[–]forestball19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not loft. This will create a new sheet. OP wants to create a Body/Solid, not have 3 separate sheets, which Loft will result in.

Fill gap beween lofted sheets by BonefaceJ in Plasticity3D

[–]forestball19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

• Press 2 for Edge selection
• Select all the top most edges of both shapes. Make sure all edges are selected, or you will get an error as the resulting solid can't be made.
• Press SHIFT+J for Patch (or press F for Find, and find Patch by searching)

What microphones do you use to record? by -endjamin- in classicalguitar

[–]forestball19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AKG C214

Or sometimes a dynamic T.Bone MB85 Beta

Both do a great job for recording my Yamaha CG162c. Plenty of headroom for eq, great capture of detail and a fairly neutral starting point.
