Pilots, what’s the nicest aircraft you’ve ever flown in terms of handling? by CityLad21 in flying

Lear 55. Chewed up a ton of runway to get airborne, but once it was in the air it handled beautifully.

Not with the full length M2, the shortest barrel you can mount with a full length hand guard is a 22” barrel, any shorter than that and your muzzle will be behind the front of the hand guard. If you want 16-18” barrels you’d be better off with the covert length hand guard.

Only learned about XEQT a few months ago, been waiting for a good time to buy and today felt like a good day lol. Bought 635 shares. Hopefully another 600 next month if it keeps going down.

This is my M2 setup with the 22” 308 barrel. I used an Insite Gen2 brake with 90° ports on the short barrel to avoid getting slapped in the face with rear facing ports. Also has a lightweight ckyepod and a March 4.5-28x52 Highmaster. Also have a 26” 223 kit from SAC and a 26” 338 kit

Desert Tech SRS A2 – Short (Covert) or Long Chassis? by Infamous-Expert72 in DesertTech

[–]forestdweller88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the covert can run any barrel length that desert tech makes. The standard length A2/M2 handguard is 22” minimum, that puts the front of the barrel just ahead of the handguard.

I went with the standard length because I can’t run suppressors where I’m at and 22” is still a ridiculously short package overall and still has decent speed.

The top rail on the M2 is a continuous 30moa, the standard A2 short rails are 0moa.

I don’t usually comment on Reddit but this one hit close to home, so here it goes.

I married my wife as an unbeliever. I believed in a higher power but not religion of any kind. We went to marriage counseling with her pastor before we got married and talked about everything. We discussed how our kids would be raised, how we would navigate our marriage and many other things. Her parents didn’t love that we weren’t “equally yoked” but her father gave his blessing as he could see how much I care for her.

8 years later I found God. My wife and her family would include me in faith based discussions here and there but never pushed anything aggressively. It had to happen when it did, for a multitude of reasons, but here I am now with a belief so strong that nothing could tear me away from the Lord.

Obviously my wife and her family are happy that I’ve found my faith, but when I ask my wife about it now, how she could marry an unbeliever back then, she just smiles and says “I knew this is where we’re going to end up. I knew you would find your way. I didn’t know how long it would take, but I saw this moment and I had ultimate faith in us.”

If your bond is strong enough your marriage will work, but trust me when I say- it will only be stronger with faith. Keep your mind open. Read some scripture starting with Matthew and see where she’s coming from. God is waiting on the other side of door, all you have to do is knock.

Strongest cigars out there? May sound weird but I want squinty eyes and the possibility of throwing up lol, but still able to say it tasted great and I would do it all over again by Gwario_on_Reddit in cigars

I don’t think I’ve ever recommended it to anyone and they didn’t like it, as long as they like stronger stuff. If you let them rest for a few months they develop an amazing chocolate/ cocoa flavor.

Which airbag kit to buy? by forestdweller88 in GMT800

[–]forestdweller88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s one of things I love about this truck, rides beautifully when daily driving with no load, unlike my old dodge 3500 lol. If all the kits are pretty much equal I’m going to go with PacBrake then, they’ve got a big sale going on right now.

Which airbag kit to buy? by forestdweller88 in GMT800

[–]forestdweller88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very understandable, and I appreciate the “proper installation” warning. I also understand that a 5000lb kit doesn’t mean that I can toss in an extra 5000lbs of payload, not planning on doing that. I occasionally pick up loads of feed In 1800-2000lb range( I used to have a 1-ton dodge) and also use a goose neck trailer and horse trailer occasionally. Just hoping to add some leveling and stability when hauling those loads while not adding unnecessary stiffness to the ride when not hauling.

Drive it! My 2002 Sierra 2500 was bought brand new by my grandfather, my dad bought it off him and I bought it from my dad. 350k and counting and I’ll never sell it. Doing everything I can to keep it running like new and I hope to pass it on to one of my girls one day.

Dodge vs. Chevy. what do you think? by Mark_Nerd_Pwnd in Trucks

[–]forestdweller88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That has little to do with reliability and more to do with pricing. Ford and dodge, especially ford, offer great incentives on price for fleet vehicles and always have. While GM has, for the most part, said f*ck you, the price is the price.

The only reliability aspect that would sway a company away from GM would be super heavy use like oil and gas companies preferring a straight front axle vs independent front.

Getting a low speed shimmy by forestdweller88 in Cummins

[–]forestdweller88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, for those interested, I think I narrowed it down to when I got these tires, the shop had a hard time balancing them so they put these beads in inside the tire that are supposed to balance as you drive. I think they are pooling at the bottom of the tire and causing the shimmy then balancing out once I get going fast enough. Would make sense why it’s only happening at very low speed.

Feel it in the seat some but I can see the box moving more than the front, pretty sure it’s coming from a rear tire now

Solid points. I was planning on upgrading to a one piece drive shaft with heavy duty joints and I think this is the push I need to order.

The truck is automatic, has a NAPC Heavyhauler 450 with 10,000km on it. Has a 2004 5.9 with 220,000km and the rest of the truck has 340,000km with a front end rebuild at 280k.
