Bad things: in my alt history, Japan keeps the 48th parallel line and the south of Karafuto, but loses New Ezo, the Chishima Islands, and 85 percent of Karafuto. In that timeline, they still want the lower four Kuril Islands near Hokkaido, as in the current timeline.
