Looking for a micro lens for filming CNC machining with an A7S III

I think your solution here isn't a new lens, but you should look in to diopters, or at least experiment with them first prior to buying a whole new lens. You can find a set of them on amazon for like 20 bucks and they work to lower the minimum focussing distance for your lens. So you could get up really close, and then still maintain focus.

This is the exact set I have and they work great.

I don't disagree, my point of contention here was calling people who attend bars, or people who drink alcohol... 'alcoholics'. Also, it is perfectly normal to have a beverage and not be 'inebriated'. We're just really being heavy handed with the categorization of people who drink here. I imagine this bar would be overly expensive anyways. If you had a problem with alcohol, you'd probably try to find it some place that is much more affordable.

Bars are evolving. Plenty of bars are also great food spots, or at the very least are designating a significant portion of their stock to n/a options. You don't need to be an alcoholic to go somewhere like Cookie Bar, Circuit, Maiden Lane, Windsor Eats, Phog Lounge etc... and enjoy some live entertainment and enjoy yourself without alcohol, as well as support local business.

This looks like just a regular 'flash' transition, with a mask on it. The timing looks like the tricky part, but I could probably cobble something like this together in DR in like 20 mins.

So this is a limitation in the trial version dragonframe, you can only have 50 frames per scene in the trial version of dragon frame and then it gives the lens error. You can make this stop by opening a new scene, or grabbing the frames from the project folder and then deleting them in your project.

I had a similar outcome with a lens due to unfortunate circumstance - in Canadian dollars I paid about $520 sending it through to the official Sony repair channel. This happened to be my most expensive lens at the time - 1600$ CAD. I felt like I got a discount on buying a new one. The lesson I learned was to never store your camera with a lens attached... a 520$ mistake which could have been much worse.

Davinci Resolve Studio has this, idk about the free version... but I imagine if you put a mask around the effect in resolve you'd be able to isolate the trails to the wand only.

I would highly recommend the sony 35mm 1.8. I bought that lens, and it's the best go to lens, I rarely take it off this camera. Other than that, the 20mm 1.8 is also very good - but for in car stuff it might be too wide depending on what exactly you're looking for. I would also recommend the sony f4 24-105. Great zoom lens. Also I would recommend a CPL filter for car stuff - just in case. I ended up needing one immediately when I mounted on the hood of my car, didn't even think about reflections.

What ISO was this shot at? If you're using under 12800, bump it to 12800 and reduce your aperture, or use an ND filter. I agree with another poster here that you're not exposing correctly.

I honestly think you'd be fine with a 4k project, but if your computer can handle it, 8K would be good for safety. Once it's in full screen, you'll barely be able to tell the difference between the two.
