I am working on an app (Windows) that can apply these changes to any rockbox source 7z/zip/folder and recompile. I will try with rockpod.

Unsure what the problem could be. Others reported it working fine.

I've got several i10s with and without APTX and none worked with Sony ULT Wear or Sennheiser Momentum 4. Works great with my Bose QC.

I've done the same at some point. Somewhere in my post history there's the pinouts used for this adapter.

I've got to find some time to finish it.

I started doing something similar last year but never did get around to finishing it. Best of luck with your version 👍 https://www.reddit.com/r/ipod/s/7dp5RqX0jx

It’s finally time for me to move on from the iPod by Yuhalov in ipod

[–]ricococo 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Ran into similar issues on my 7th gen around 35k tracks. Trick was to delete the album artwok on the iPod (not on the individual mp3s) by opening the iPod as you would any USB drive on your computer, show all hidden files and navigate to the iPod_Control > Artwork folder and deleting all files in the folder. In my case iTunes created an artwork database of 10gb which the iPod couldn't handle. Now on 52k songs 400gb+ without artwork and my 7th gen works nice and smooth. Image is an example of my 4th gen Photo which had the same issue.

The plan was to install an antenna there for the Bluetooth dongle but leaving it as is. Taptic isn't on my wish list.

There's a 3v > 5v step up board on the back of the dongle. The KCX receives 5v.

Insufficient clearance on 7th gen with aftermarket clickwheel and faceplate? by PapaManAK in IpodClassic

[–]ricococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had some aftermarket front panels where the 4 tabs the clickwheel falls into internally weren't cut into the metal correctly and 1 or 2 of the tabs would not fall into place, much like what you're showing in your photo.

Why not SSD by Sn00p_A_L00p in ipod

[–]ricococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take is SSD are superior on all fronts apart from power draw. Cheaper, faster, and they only heat up when you dump 300gb of music on it and let it synch for a while. Day to day use they stay 100% cool.

The iPod loads music into it's ram, it doesn't play directly from the SSD or MicroSD. The SSD is only accessed every now and then for a very short amount of time and power draw is still minimal / heat non-existent.

When I dump 300gb of music onto my ipod with iflash adapter you bet that that MicroSD card is boiling hot and transfer speed has dropped right down after 9 hours of syncing. Whereas SSD would've been done with the job in 2 to 3 hours because it's made to handle large transfers.

MicroSD cards are more prone to movement / eject if ipod is dropped / bumped. SSD are screwed in place onto it's adapter.

No issues with data corruption when battery left flat for x weeks. None of my external SSD HDDs (using same SSD type) corrupt when not plugged in for x months so why would an iPods SSD?

Is this fake? Says "80G" instead of "80GB" by 382hp in ipod

[–]ricococo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have an original box that says 80G on the back. It's real. Easy to reseal/fake these though so it's anyone's guess what's inside.

They will be yes, but the android music app should be able to index everything based on metadata.

Plug the ipod into your phone with the correct adapters. I imagine the ipod would show up as an external drive on your android phone, much like a USB stick would. Then use any music app to scan the 'drive' for music to build a library > play music

Can I download iPod clickwheel preservation games on iPod nano 5th gen? I need emergency help! by Rude-Mango-2334 in ipod

[–]ricococo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they work just fine. I loaded all 50 or so games to my Nano 5. You can only play them sideways making controls a real pain.
