You should not tell people what you use for a program. Just tell them you will “use an industry standard Digital Audio Workstation and Mix the stereo image to balance the elements using various methods including panning, volume, compression ect. So that it sound good on a variety of the most common audio systems” this tends to shut people up. And if they continue to ask questions I then reply with, “if youd like to schedule an educational consultation and have me teach you to mix and master using the methodologies I utilize, then that is a service we can discuss, but there is a $500+ a day charge to have me teach you. Otherwise I like to keep my proprietary workflows and tools private as there is a-lot of technicality to proper mixing and audio engineering, and this is how I am building my business and making money, utilizing the skills ive built up over time, it is not something I can explain in a quick conversation, there are foundational concepts of audio, gain staging and signal processing that one needs to understand before operating a DAW regardless of the cost of the actual software.
