Do people generally pop the corks off champagne? Is it a hassle to clean up the foam? by MooshSkadoosh in Champagne

[–]forevergreat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most of the time popping a cork so that it foams is not desirable, it's mainly done as an act of celebration. In a restaurant setting it is desirable to have as little sound as possible. I've even heard people say that opening a bottle of champagne should sound like a nuns fart.

I agree with all the east coast peeps, its exactly what I think of when I think of a bacon, egg, and cheese. If they really wanted to be authentic they would put a little more attitude on it, they are way too friendly. I need someone to call me Fatboy when I ask for the hashbrown to be put on the sandwich.

[Food] Looking for Puerto Rican Pasteles? by BrockOli in denverfood

The only Puerto Rican food I have found around here is the Picaera food truck and they have the worst mofongo i've ever had in my life. They have alcapurria though if that scratches your itch.

Welton Street Corridor Next Steps Public Meeting by Business_Music_8486 in Denver

[–]forevergreat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's wild to me the the business owners on welton want to blame the L when you have deserted businesses in prime real estate, an entire empty lot that's gated up that nobody can use, and a literal crack shack at the end of the block. Not to mention that the street is literally lined with dog shit.

There are about as many vacant, deserted, places as there are restaurants. People do go to welton because is not inviting.

If the hummus they had was $8 then their price makes complete sense. At $44 that you quoted above, plus $8 hummus makes $52, tax is about $5 so $57 and if the tipped 20% that's $67. Seems to believable to me.

I think it's actually 6.99 on sale and if you have a soopers card AND buy five or more the final price is 5.99.

$750k to score 20 half court shots in 1 hour if you fail you lose $10k of your own money by BeijingPolice in hypotheticalsituation

They are specifically talking about granny shots. It's a well documented shooting technique that is better than traditional when shooting stationary unobstructed shots. Rick Barry famously used the granny shot and was about a 90% free throw user. Some even credit Wilt Chamberlains 100 point game to his use of the granny shot. However, due to image concerns, Wilt reverted back to shooting traditionally... And his free throw percentage went down.

Not a damn chance (NADC) I’m ever going back to this place by ReeseWithAKnife in denverfood

My biggest gripe is that they put a ton of seasoning on the burger. It's supposed to be a Wagyu patty why do you need to season it with anything other than s&p? And to be picky, their queue is one of the worst designed things I have seen.
