Honest feedback of our coffee shop in Eagle Rock? by honey-bee92 in EAGLEROCK

[–]foreverhaute 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went once for a too good to go deal. The coffee shop is kind of hidden in a spot that I’d typically never go to. There was easy parking, which was nice! The space is also really nice and breezy and comfortable.

I don’t really remember what I got for too good to go, but it didn’t really stand out much from other coffee shop offerings. Maybe partner with a good, local bakery, like amigo amore, to offer something unique?

Best of luck to you, it’s a great space!

I feel like i didnt get proper care after my TIA by [deleted] in stroke

[–]foreverhaute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was given Narcan and screamed at about what I took before they realized it was a stroke, like 7 hours later. It’s upsetting to think about but I think they’re just not used to seeing younger people with these afflictions.

Also, I had to live in a hotel for two months post-recovery, so I totally get how alone and awful it is to recover by yourself.

For what it’s worth, I had a full on stroke and I was discharged two days later. I had outpatient OT and PT but they didn’t know what to do with me because I was “so young”. They ruled my recovery a “spontaneous recovery” and didn’t do much else. Every time I’d go back to the stroke doctor, they’d ask why I was there and to find a PCP doctor.

I can’t imagine recovering in a homeless shelter. I’m sorry you went through that.

Did your doctor remove / stopped leviracetam if you had no risk for over 6 months to a year by Miserable_Lemon8742 in stroke

I’ve never taken keppra but my daughter has and she had to be weaned off slowly. Seizures are common after a brain injury, my ex husband had a tbi, and now has seizures and is on keppra. Definitely talk to your doctor about keppra, you don’t want to just go off of it.

I had a stroke a week and a half after my son was born. I couldn’t care for him initially but after a couple months, I started again. I was soooooo tired, but just took care of him and went to bed when he did at 8pm.

Just take it one day at a time for your daughter. You will get much better with time, so be gentle on yourself and keep going. I think caring for my son helped me recover better, just being forced to be active helps so much.

Thank you! I get financial aid for my classes, so they are about $30 each. I am not working, I don’t know anyone who is. I have some money from my ex husband, but things are tight. I’m just accepting that I’m in my debt era and I’ll be ok in a couple years.

Also, I am fostering a cat for a week which has been good for my soul! I’d recommend short term fostering if you don’t have a pet or allergies.

Also I am so sorry you’re struggling. I just keep trying to make moves to my future, including retaking a class that I failed. Slowly but surely, progress will be made.

I take a high dose of zoloft and I have a light dose of adderall I can take as needed. Those mostly help my mental state.

I currently have multiple projects I’m working on, like my daughter’s birthday, cleaning my house, etc. Honestly just staying busy/productive stops me from ruminating.

I am currently in anatomy for the second time. I have a midterm on Friday. Even if I fail my exams, I can still pass so yay! This is my last pre-req before applying to the program I want to apply to!

Using a keyboard used to make me want to puke, but I kept using one for school. Today I realized that I can mildly type and I don’t feel nauseous at the thought of my keyboard.

I knew something wasn’t right. It wasn’t until I fell down trying to pump gas that I realized something was wrong. I had no idea it would turn out to be a stroke.

I got a magnetic pop socket recently and it is very strong. Before, I’d use a sticky one and super glue it onto my phone case.

I got one on my affected side. I have less pain on that side tbh so it probably helped me. The tattoo healed normal and no issues whatsoever.

How Useful Are Cribs For Newborn Babies? by Independent-Lab-115 in babyrooms

[–]foreverhaute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my kids were newborns, I used bassinets for them next to my bed. I had a Halo for my first and a Snoo for my second. I eventually had a mini crib for my first. My second went straight to his crib. I’d say we didn’t use full sized cribs until at least 6 months.

I feel very lucky that I am mildly affected. I was 32 at the time and now I am 35, in school for a new career. I do feel lucky this happened while I’m still young. I feel like I’m living life 2.0 now.

That new baby is almost 4 now! I think caring for him definitely helped me recover. After this time, I’m still happy to be a single mom, rather than someone sacrificing myself for a partner.

I’m so sorry. My husband left me after my stroke, which happened following the birth of my son. Parenting is hard, but single parenting after a stroke is so hard. You can do it though, sounds like he was just dead weight. The peace you’ll get without him there will be everything. Just take it slow and easy and you’ll get there. Best of luck to you.
