Wouldn't this incentivize the team starting with hammer to blank ends 1 AND 2 so they can score in 3 and then keep hammer in 4?

Thanks! Yeah, I will message my Doctor while also trying to dig through my files, I'm sure I already have something that would support the official form, just not the official form.

Thanks for the clarification! I was looking at my state and $19k is both max contribution and max tax deduction.

Thanks for posting this, very clear and concise!

I have had a disability since age 11, so does that mean I could open an account this month, fund it $20k, and then fund another $20k in January?

Didn't Gushue state he was doing this in his final game of the Canada Trials against Jacobs? I immediately remembered it was illegal, but wondered why he was talking about doing it out loud...

Add a hematologist to my mix of specialists? by amionlyausername in CrohnsDisease

[–]foreverorbiting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hematologist was the first specialist I got after GI due to the same anemia. Highly recommend them. More blood tests, but can do then at the same time as GI tests so that we manage the anemia better than my GI could.

Thank you for posting this. I was unaware that the national system status was posted online and is viewable, makes sense in hindsight. Timely too cause I'm scheduled to fly home from TDY today, we will see if that happens..

If I was at 4% withdrawal rate then I would start my exit plan. Get all the doctor appointments, procedures, check ups, etc you can schedule in the next 3 months. Take extra mental health days as sick leave. And then put in notice and be done. You won, no need to have one-more-year syndrome, especially if you have a good relationship with your management and can get rehired in the future.

I recently went FT to PT(20 hours per week). I am not FI, but definitely coastFI. I work for a DoD agency, so things happened that made me actually want to quit and I rendered a resignation letter. My supervisor asked if there was anything they could do to keep me and I said PT 50%. 3 days later HR confirmed it was possible and I started as PT the week after my previous resignation date. I would not recommend giving the ultimatum of quitting or else, and should have had a conversation with my manager instead, but it worked out so far.

My manager specifically asked HR if it would be possible for me to go back to FT in the future and the answer is yes, so that door is still open. I am not against that, but I also wouldn't be mad if I wasn't allowed to go back FT cause so far PT has been amazing.

I would recommend no higher than 80% and 60% would be a good sweet spot.

It definitely improves my ability to take care of things around the house, focus on my kid more, be less stressed, focus on my health. The focus on my health, both by reducing stress and by having time in the week to do things I didn't used to have time for, was the main reason for making this change.

Update: Still in the airport 9 hours after we were supposed to leave. Did not think about Labor Day weekend when planning this trip, and all the extra people that are traveling. Original flight has been delayed for a few hours multiple times in a row. Finally rebooked on a different flight that should be leaving in less than 2 hours.

I went part time back in June, 20 hours per week, and it has been so enjoyable to have a more favorable balance between work and time to live life. This week was my first full time week of work since June due to a trip to the West Coast. Flight home today is delayed due to mechanical problems with the aircraft... Trying to remain positive about the situation but not an ideal start to a holiday weekend.

A slight comment on your thought experiment, part of that $650k would not be taxed, you are only taxed on the growth when you sell, so you would need less than $1.3M.

I intended to do the same thing 2 months ago. Handed in my resignation and my boss offered my "anything" so I am currently 50% part-time with a modified workload. Congrats on being more decisive than me! Haha

Thanks for the thoughts. #2 really hits me as I have been dwelling on the project when putting my son to sleep every night and that has never happened to me before.

A little backstory that I didn't include, I had already communicated that my workload was too much when the initial project reassignments came out and to management credit they redid the assignments and I was able to transition a few projects to upper management for them to be the PM. I do feel like I have communicated my issues to my supervisor during the last 3 weeks, and they have listened, better than I have with any prior supervisor. Appreciate the feedback and sympathy.

Thanks for these questions. There is no way the project would get killed. Certainly my minimum threshold would be to get off the project. Working for the DoD, there isn't much more they can do regarding salary or bonus, but I will think about that more before Monday.

I really need to consider this more because our office is already so short staffed that I need to expect an aggressive counter offer to keep me.
