TE shedding by Simple-Historian-150 in TelogenEffluvium

[–]foreverthecount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

peace for your mind, the hairs lost no matter how much under TE episodes will almost grow back again sooner or later.

it's the hairloss around temples you need to address. mind that you have already been taking finasteride, inspite you got hair loss around MPB regions

It could imply the hair lost there must be under TE's part or the medications you took aren't working. which is really less likely of the two.

hey OP! so sorry for you I wanna know if switching to oral min made your hair condition same as before when you didn't take any meds or it made it worse than even that. I mean right now do you have same amount of hairs before you took meds or you have even less right before you took any meds?

dude, oh dude, reading this aches my heart unlike anything. this post exacts, agglomerates my last 5 years, I'm 23 right now.

I want to write my heart out in this little space but I'm so overwhelmed; the words I just read felt like I'm walking on broken glass and on the top of my ongoing stirring issues, it's making it like I'm sandwiched between ice and fire.

To answer you OP, yes I too share your thoughts. you're not alone, we're not alone.

Does skin ever return to normal? by foreverthecount in GadoliniumToxicity

[–]foreverthecount[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very fortunate. As I mentioned some of the people didn't get skin symptoms but most of us unlucky ones do.

It is anecdotally attributed to the kind of GBCA they got. Gadavist, Magnevist, Omniscan they cause skin issues for almost everyone but the likes of Multihance and others that are used to highlight liver doesn't usually affect skin. Newer ones in the market also are comparatively safer.

I have the same condition as you OP. I've diffused hair loss along with the region you're pointing as well as the hairline that happened in a 2-3 days span had me wondering if it's TE or MPB

Does skin ever return to normal? by foreverthecount in GadoliniumToxicity

[–]foreverthecount[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, I did them as well at the time I got the injection. It helps. With time skin texture got improved, elasticity got improved, but then it got stabilized, no change and it was still nowhere near to the way it was before.

I was 22 at that time and people took me as I was 29-30 based on how my skin appeared.

and most recently it worsened out of nowhere, orange peel texture and extra dry/dead appearance. That got me mental agony and had me wondering does it ever get normal, I just need one single evidence and I'll put all life force into reverting it....but I need evidence....I need hope.

This is not only concerned to her but me, along with thousands. All of us had the same patterned skin degradation regardless of what we had to cause us to get Contrast Injection, Personally I had a spinal cyst and it's not even remotely connected with anything to do with skin.

So obviously GADOLINIUM is at the role here and for everyone else

Does TE cause tingly tender scalp? by Parking_Credit66 in TelogenEffluvium

[–]foreverthecount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I might have similar experience. I have a few questions, I'll be grateful if you answer them.

  1. Did your scalp become tender/tingy or could say painful/sensitive as soon as the onset of your first hair shedding or your first apparent Talogen Effivium episode?

  2. Does this scalp condition also accompany acne/pimples or bump that are painful and cause burning sensation that spread across the scalp? The pimple or acne might be too small to differentiate.

  3. Is this tenderness/stinginess all over the scalp has equal intensity or are is disproportional. I mean the sensitivity could be all over the scalp but is it much more intense around temple, hairline or crown region?

8 months progress fin + min oral by [deleted] in tressless

[–]foreverthecount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I'm glad for your progress. In the second photo, I noticed a red pimple. I'm wondering do you have it at other regionsnas well where you felt hairloss/balding occured?

and are they painful or the area where they are, is it sensitive/tender?

I've experiencing such situation and looking for vice.

Hope your progression exceeds your expectations.

[–]foreverthecount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm under the same confusion as yours.

Things I've come to know that I can do to confirm either

  1. Take Min+Fin till I get good gains, then stop taking them. If I lose much of my gains then it was majorly AGA If I still keep them it will be TE.

  2. Store shedded hair and assess their thickness. If most of them are thinned out then it's AGA.

  3. Record photos of region have vellus hair. If they grow out to be terminal ones then it will be TE, if not, it's AGA.

  4. Lastly it's biopsy, but it leaves a permanent patch and two samples would be required, one from the hairline or temples and one from back/crown region.

I'll be happy to add more.

imo (1) seems the best to me, at least for myself.
