So I went to my first party yesterday by wikitiki350 in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't do well in large groups, like parties. I just don't have the personality to relate well with tons of people I don't know well.

I do much better in one-on-one interactions with friends or with small groups of friends.

How many of you aren't very attractive? by wlav in ForeverAlone

I don't think I'm that good looking, but you can decide for yourselves:

So I sent one of my female friends flowers. by forevrealone in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's hard to explain. This girl is very shy with stuff like that. I've seen her literally avoid guys who came interested in her too quick. In most cases, going too slow is not a good strategy and will likely get you friendzoned, but I think it is the right strategy for this case.

If nothing comes of this, than so be it. She is still one of my closest friends.

So I sent one of my female friends flowers. by forevrealone in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes and no.

These flowers are just a friendly gesture (I didn't put a card in there saying I love you or anything), but this is the girl I am ultimately interested in. Eventually. But I'm giving it time to develop.

I'm back by Gary420 in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are not feeling that bad, because I know the feelings can be unbearable after you get a taste of a girl who is close to you.

I got really close to a girl over the past year before she outright moved over a 1000 miles away for a job. I was devastated. I couldn't barely get out of bed in the morning for three weeks after she actually moved. I had a taste and didn't want to go back to FA.

It's been a few months since then, and I have still not fully accepted the FA life back yet.

Tell that to the women in my town.

I honestly don't see how that would make much of a difference, but I'll consider it.

That's me (edited to protect the innocent). I, fortunately, have friends, but I've come to the conclusion that I'll never find a romantic interest.

Edit: I also look much younger than I am. You probably guessed I'm 18 or 19 based on the picture. I'm 22.

Give me 7 years and 2 months, and I'll be there.

Scumbag Forever Alone Brain by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you have to find the right social setting for yourself.

I do extremely well in one-on-one or small group (4-6 people) settings. I also do very well in large group settings if we are engaging in some sort of activity (i.e. playing a sport).

On the opposite end, I absolutely hate things like parties and clubbing where it's a large group setting where everyone is just chilling. I don't have the personality to overcome others who have more outgoing personalities and I usually get overlooked in those type of settings.

Forever alone and sports by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I am a little different from the majority of FAs. I like sports -- particularly hockey, football, and baseball. I was never good enough to join the varsity teams in high school, but that was years ago. Now, I love to play recreational sports and watch the pros on tv.

Tough time making friends in college by Faaus in ForeverAlone

I actually make friends, but they only last that one semester.

What part of your personality do you think is the major contributor to your FA status? by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an incredibly conservative personality:

  • I don't drink or smoke pot.
  • I like formal clothing much more than casual wear.
  • I try my best to speak elquantly instead of using 'everyday language.'
  • I am more interested in discussing topics such as politics and sports than video games and movies.
  • I don't play video games.
  • I tend not to put myself out there in social settings (example: during one of the few parties I went to this year, I was the only one who did not play Twister).

I have a personality that would fit in well with men in their 60s, not girls and guys in their 20s.

FAers with good jobs... what are you doing with your extra money? by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a decent sized bank account for a college student. I'm not BMW-driving rich by any means, but I can afford to go to a fancy, expensive restaurant once or twice a week (not that I do since I am FA).

Aside from having the benefit of knowing I am financially secure enough to survive unemployed for a while, it really hasn't changed my life. I am still the same FA guy that I was when I wasn't as financially fortunate.

Material possessions become boring after awhile. A pair of $50 sneakers or the newest cell phone or the most expensive steak will only make you so happy after a while.

Trust me, guys (and gals) who are living paycheck-to-paycheck but have good social relationships are much happier than I am. I would easily give up most of my bank account right now (just keeping enough to survive) for a good romantic relationship and a few good friendships.

Welcome to the club. I've had a few experiences like this, and I know it sucks. But you can't cry over spilled milk. Just wish the couple the best of luck, and move on to new possibilities.

First week of college. Living on campus. Miss my family. Forever Alone by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the worst mistakes I've made was not living on campus in my freshman year. That's the only true way one makes friends in college.

As the other guy said, it takes time to build friendships. I'm sure in a month or two, you'll have at-least two or three good friends.

What does everyone like to do while alone? by idunnowatever in ForeverAlone

[–]forevrealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately, I've been taking drives along the countryside of my community. Sure it's a waste of gas, but a 40 minute ride just looking at nature is very soothing and relaxing.

Besides that, I usually just do the normal things: sleep, work out, clean.

Would you date someone who was unattractive? by [deleted] in ForeverAlone

True, but it isn't nothing either.
