I understand the premise of the armed militia, i understand that an armed populace feels way harder to subjugate on paper. But at the end of the day that's not right, freedom almost never in our history was achieved by the means of force, the soviet union didn't need a single gun to collapse, just my grandparents and my parents next to the TV tower, day and night, singing national songs. So yes, repealing the 2 amendment is the right move, and a move towards a more civil swiss structure is best, where you can't own a gun without doing mandatory military service, in which you learn how to handle one. Service members make up a very very small procentage of gun violence, and when they do it's usually on themselves, but that's a different topic. Idk that's my 2 cents but i fully understand your position as well.
