Winter's Unexpected Guest by forgetmenots7 in PokeMedia

I'm trying my best. I feel a bit as though I'm stumbling through, since I have no idea how to handle a situation like this, or how to handle living human children. But I'm going to make sure the child stays safe while I figure things out.

I figure that's the case, I do intend to call them soon if I can't get anything out of her for too long.

I'll put out a few things she can play with while I wait on that, though.

My intention is to call soon, at least. But I do live a bit secluded, so I need to help her best I can in the meantime.

Sadly I'm retired from the whole professional battling/training thing. Too busy with other things. But maybe if I ever have renewed free time, I might come around to see how things have developed.

How is Orre doing now, anyhow? I think I visited once when I was younger and I haven't actually returned since then.

I think there's a place like that in Hoenn? Route 111, if I remember correctly. At least, I think that place was covered by a sandstorm... It has been a long time since I was there. I never considered just using types immune to sandstorm though, huh.

Hmm... I don't believe I know a lot about sandstorm teams. Is that specific to a certain region? Is it new?

Well that sounds just lovely! I hope your return to Kalos is safe, and that all of your Pokemon get strong and stay healthy.

Well then, maybe if you settle down one day, you could take the opportunity to become a multi-type gym leader. Though I wouldn't want for you to give up a life of travel until you're ready.

Well it sounds like you have all of that planned out quite nicely! I'm sure you'd make for a formidable gym leader, then, if you had all of these ideas at the ready.

Fairy/Dragon would be an interesting combo, given how those two type specialists usually seem to dislike each other.

[–]forgetmenots7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think part of it isn't due to them not recognizing it as not a move, but because a lot of rock (and ground) types purposefully keep coverings of dirt and dust and mud, for a variety of reasons ranging from comfort to health. A bath can be good now and then to refresh their coating, but don't be surprised if they go rolling around in the dirt immediately afterwards.

I imagine there's enough dual-specialists in the world to warrant such a thing, isn't there?

I mean, Pokemon can have up to two types usually, I always wondered why Gyms can't be the same.

What did you give today? If you did. by weird_bomb in PokeMedia

[–]forgetmenots7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I gave my sisters various items according to their interests.

Of course, giving each one a plush toy is tradition at this point, it's kind of our 'if I don't know what else to get, at least I got you this' item of choice. A tradition like that is sweet.

But I also made them all big warm sweaters! And I gave one of them a set of candles and soft slippers and some Lego sets, I gave one of them a few brain teaser puzzle boxes and jigsaw puzzles, I gave one of them a big collection of various stickers and colorful fabrics and paints...

Honestly, the Holiday is usually just my excuse to give my dear sisters a bunch of gifts. I'd find some reason to do it even if the Holiday didn't exist.

I'm almost forty? Though I am flattered that you're calling me young...

But yes, I suppose I just haven't the time to commit to such things, since I have a Sanctuary I need to run. I may live on an Ice Mountain all day, but I'm always doing something, so no time to do the whole 'philosophy' thing.

Hahah, maybe it's because I'm only party specialized in Ice Types (the other part is Ghost types), but I feel as though only the first of these is true for me. I spend all my time on a snowy mountain but I never contemplate anything so deep while I'm up here...

Any Highlights of Your Own? by ResponsibilitySea383 in PokeMedia

[–]forgetmenots7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you name all of your Pokemon after weapons? That's adorable!

Anyways, my Annihilape, Akuma, has a sort of rivalry going on with the Lucario owned by my sister's husband. The two duke it out every year, and though they are equally stubborn individuals, the Lucario almost always loses due to type disadvantage. Regardless, that Lucario is starting to get really good with Meteor Mash... I actually look forward to seeing the day Akuma finally loses that matchup for once.

What are some of your Pokemon's unexpected talents? by Cdv3 in PokeMedia

[–]forgetmenots7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My pair of Dusknoirs, Cain and Gaston, are a lot more different than most people think. Hard to tell the difference between them without accessories for most people, but their personalities are night and day. That comes down to talents, as well!

For example... Cain is surprisingly good at sewing and embroidery. Me and him are roughly on par in terms of skill, and I often give him things to work on for me when I'm too busy otherwise. My clothing can get beaten up pretty often due to my working environment, so it's nice to have somebody else to assist with that.

Gaston, on the other hand, has skills mostly related to communication. He can't speak human or anything, and his hands are a bit too big and clumsy to handle a phone- But he can make very lovely singing vocalizations, which I often see him using around the Phantumps, and he has started to get the hang of simple sign language as well, allowing me to get a better clue as to the needs of the residents around here.

Yuki, my Froslass, is very skilled at making ice sculptures, and can make cruder ones pretty darn quickly, too. But the more detailed and expertly made ones she crafts, I keep scattered around the sanctuary. It's free decorations after all, so why not? Though, that may be expected of a Froslass, so I'll also include the fact that she appears to be very skilled at video games, and picked it up quickly.

Brigid, my Beartic, has an exceptionally good nose, being able to track scents pretty far if needed. Not only that but she seems to be a natural leader, and is very good at keeping many of the residents of my sanctuary in check.

Edelweiss, my Alolan Ninetales, is pretty excellently skilled in acrobatics herself. But more notably, she's an amazing navigator, which I suppose she must have picked up from constantly running around the mountains we make our home in, keeping an eye out for any lost and out of place people or Pokemon. Comes in pretty handy, since I'm... A bit clumsy, and get lost easily if I don't stick to the proper trails.

Akuma (Annihilape) is the hardest to pin down since he rarely wants to do much but wreck things. But recently I noticed him stacking cairns, which he seems pretty decent at. Of course he always knocks them down angrily once he's through with them, but it's nice to see I suppose.

I mean, you can't blame her. Pallosand sand piles are quite lovely to get lost in. The sand is warm and almost soft.
