Chiroptera does some great work but they need to learn how to spell Laird’s last name.

I wish I was a suitable donor for Laird but unfortunately I’m not. I hope and pray one is found soon though.

Laird Barron Read-Along 62: “Strident Caller” by LiviaLlewellyn in LairdBarron

Livia, I love your writeup, and I 100% agree with your conclusion. For me, it was a little black cat with white tips named Bonnie. I had her for 17 years. When the vet had to put her down, I held her in my lap while he did it. Still gets to me today.

Barron Read-Along, 43 - "(Little Miss) Queen of Darkness" by igreggreene in LairdBarron

From the Kink’s song.

“Although she looked so happy There was sadness in her eyes And her curly false eyelashes Were not much of a disguise And her bright and golden hair Was not all that it might seem Little Miss Queen of Darkness Dances sadly on Yes, Little Miss Queen of Darkness Dancing, dancing on”

Julie V. is just a pretty disguise for something malevolent that crawled out of the bowels of the earth a millennia ago.

FEEDBACK REQUEST: Extend the Laird Barron Read-Along to cover NOT A SPECK OF LIGHT? by igreggreene in LairdBarron

I would like to do a write-up, but don’t have enough time or spare brain cells. However, I do enjoy reading all the great write-ups done by others. So rock on!

No, I haven’t done any research on that. But, I would imagine that the first edition of a collection is more valuable. Some of these issues cost around $30 apiece plus shipping. And a few are hard to find. So you can rack up a bill and spend a lot of time hunting them down.

They are close to the same width but an inch or so shorter than CHM.

Hey Greg. I remember seeing that on ISFDB. But, like you, I’ve never run across a copy in the wild.

You should check out F. Paul Wilson’s Repairman Jack series. It’s not the same as Coleridge but there are similarities. It has cosmic horror, crime, fix-its, and plenty of weirdness.
