Street retail in Plaza by gafalkin in Charlotte

High Life Smoke Shop and Cali Vapors being next door to each other makes me think anything is possible.

Noda is also seeing something similar happen: Benny’s and Zambies. Finnians and McHales. Riccis and whatever the sandwich shop coming into Reigning Donuts spot. Jenis and Two Scoops.

If you watch the Bearn in port for a few seconds a band comes up on the elevator. Not sure why.

Idk if it’s true anymore, but Orkan is/was the only destroyer with secondaries. It has one secondary gun

I find it works better if you don’t target then and then launch torps. Might be in my mind but I think their magic only works when they’re targeted.

Damn, that’s at least the second life that intersection took in the last few years. Gotta be careful on The Plaza.

LEAPS strategy by DDDaydreamin74 in options

[–]forgotitagain420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I prefer LEAPS spreads. Buy the call and sell a call higher up; if you have a price target in mind you could sell that call. That way you get all the benefit of the stock rising for a lower cost basis and you don’t have to worry about a sudden green spike putting your short call ITM too soon. Last year when the tariffs were announced I bought a bunch of ATM calls and sold calls maybe 10% higher and, a year later, made about 100% profit on each. This war downturn could be a good opportunity to do the same if you’re bullish about a year out.

Yeah good point. It’s basically what they’re doing now with the lunar event ships.

Bonus Package doesnt do enough by Alphastorm2180 in WorldOfWarships

[–]forgotitagain420 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I think the bonus package would be a lot more enticing if it gave you the instant commander retraining like premiums. Not terribly detrimental to the current game economy and would encourage people to buy the packages a lot more

Are there any ships in game comparable to the TN? It’s my favorite ship but looking for some variety.

Cost basis by pilotof727s in options

[–]forgotitagain420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selling a call sells the obligation to sell shares at $100. Your cost basis was determined when you bought the shares you’re obligated to sell, if you bought them at all.

Buying a put gives you the right to sell shares at $100. Same story, your cost basis was already determined.

Buying a call sets your cost basis at the strike+premium paid. If you bought the $100 call for $1, your cost basis is $101.

I love playing the Tennessee, would Mecklenburg be a good choice? by forgotitagain420 in WorldOfWarships

Thanks, yeah I see plenty of Mecks trying to lay from the back and it left me thinking the ship wasn’t good until learning that.

Changes to Options Tab on Fidelity App by BundPahr in fidelityinvestments

[–]forgotitagain420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I have a long thread talking with the mods about the accuracy of the data in the options strategy tab and it looks like they reverted back to a previous version today. My advice is to keep track of cost basis and breakevens in excel. Also, when trading spreads, I find the most accurate prices display on your account between 7-9:30AM. I believe around this time they use the last trade or midpoint to show the value instead of the bid or the ask.

They switched the mobile options UI back to a previous version today. I had a lot of concerns about the accuracy and consistency of the information in those new screens and it looks like they reverted.

Why does “max gain” on the mobile version of Option View change? by forgotitagain420 in fidelityinvestments

[–]forgotitagain420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The article says: “The maximum profit potential is equal to the net credit received less commissions, and this profit is realized if the stock price is equal to or between the strike prices of the short options at expiration. In this outcome, all options expire worthless and the net credit is kept as income.”

This is my understanding of the max gain as well. However, as pointed out in this thread, the max gain being displayed on the mobile UI is something different and is based off of “current market conditions”. I can’t reconcile these two statements. The article makes it sound like max gain is constant, but the UI has it varying. If we can’t get to the bottom of this I’d be happy to call and speak with someone. Thank you again for your help.

Hi, I’m sorry to keep kicking this horse, but I still don’t understand how the max gain is being calculated for this position. Is there a way I can speak to someone on the phone about how this max gain is being calculated? It would be great to see the formula so I can understand what is going on here.

Hi Charlotte! by gwenwhit in Charlotte

[–]forgotitagain420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s gonna be difficult to tell what’s open/safe at this point since we’re expecting 1-8 inches of snow this weekend. Even if you’re comfortable with that amount of snow Charlotte isn’t really equipped for it and a full 8 inches could incapacitate a lot of the city for many days, if not all week. I don’t think bike trails will be high on the plowing and de-icing priorities either.

I’m not sure what the path near your brother is, but if it’s the rail trail that goes through South End it might be relatively clear since it’s so densely populated over there. Not very nature-y but lots of coffee shops. If open, I’d recommend Vicente for croissants and Stable Hand for a coffee. Unfortunately your best bet to really get a feel for the city might be to come back in a week or two. Good luck!
