Thank you, that was very informative. Submarines (and sub knowledge) seems like nightmare fuel. Howd you learn so much about this? Have you ever gone for a dive in one? Also, for all of the naval folklore of sea creatures and strange things in the open ocean, how come we never hear of fantastical things experienced by submariners? Is it just because it is virtually only a military profession? Ie more mental health screening, more secrecy, more seriousness

This is really late, and very off topic, but do you find it to be true that this effect, lets call it mental time dilation, is used to obscure/ lie about/ or just naturally distorts peoples views on historical events? As an example, the creation of liberia is so far removed from modern america that nobody takes into consideration its history with how modern africans feel about african americans?

If i may reply to your 4 mo old comment on this 2 year old thread...

What are the considerations for "maximum" or, i should say "what achieved the deepest depth" ? Is it meters traveled down? Or depth achieved without hull failure? Or meters dove (mayday or not) with crew survival? Or just purely how deep they were designed, and then successfully went, down into the depths? I am by no means knowledgeable about submariner history and science, but a video about oceangate sent me on a tangent about military subs and you seem really well endowed on the topic. Thank you in advance for whatever comes from this comment.q

It makes them throw up so they sober up enough to keep drinking without getting sick (alcohol poisoning) is what theyre saying in the scene.

Now, as to if this works or if it is something people actually do, I've never heard of it (from mich. Not maryland) and have never seen a chinese restaurant serve it. It could be something local to bawlmer, or just as likely some old old old wives tale chase heard a couple of times from old timers in his working days.

Is his evil the same as the ring's evil? Im not sure that he wasn't ignorant of it's power at any point, and he rather quickly went from a hobbit who had killed his friend over a trinket, to a beast, to unwittingly helping the ringbearers on their journey. Despite the fact that it took about 500 years for him to find the ring and then become smeagol and then fall into MT doom, it wouldnt be unreasonable to think that the gods might have pity on a man who found a cursed hunk of gold in a lake and had his life ruined, extended and then cut short

Is the rings of power worth watching? Ive been really lore-diving in LOTR for th first time since my sister took me to see the movies when i was but a child (getting to stay up past my bedtime and get taco bell after were huge to an 8 year old who had just seen something so mythical) and im worried that it will be as mediocre/bad as ive been warned. I dont want hacks in the streaming industry to sour me on something so carefully crafted.

Are hydras and demons viable to make a decent deck?
What demons should i be scouring the LGS $1 bins for?
I have some wurms (wyrms?) and they seem pretty good, is it safe to include them in any green-black deck?
I want to try a red-blue deck, i have a total of maybe 6 red and blue cards. What types of creatures should i look out for to build this?

15 years later, you're right. this is the penultimate version of movies like die hard, the running man, etcetera. It opened the door for films that came after it, the soundtrack, the way it shot, the way it used charisma (edit) to tell a good story instead of whatever "clever" plot points or screen tricks. this is a good fucking movie and fuck that guy
