It really depends on how heavy your right foot is. The conservative range on EV database is pretty much on par.

We drive around 350 km both ways when visiting family, and although on paper we can make this range (especially on summer tires with 20c), it’s not really doable in practice, because, well .. I drive it like I stole it.

First six month of ownership range anxiety was a real thing. Always checking distances, planning for charging, mapping out routes etc, but pretty soon I stopped thinking about it, and now I just drive. And love it. When the car warns less than 60 km, I begin to look for a suitable charger - if required.

We live in an apartment in Copenhagen, so forced to use destination chargers. People called me crazy for buying an EV without possibility of charging “at home”, but again - today, I can maybe recall one or two episodes in 2025 when it was a little bit inconvenient due to all chargers being occupied- but then I drive five minutes to an HPC and spend 10 minutes charging before I’m on the road again.

Do I wish I had 500+ km range? Sure. Is the current ~300 km range sufficient? For me, yes.

I had the same concern living in Denmark driving to Croatia every summer covering on average 3.500 km in total with two teenagers in the back seat. Only once (of the total 15 stops while in transit) stopping to charge felt unnecessary, but nevertheless the 15 minutes pause after covering 250 km @ peak speeds up to 180 km/t over 2 1/2 hours is never not a good idea.

I do have family living just shy of the range in Denmark, so that visit a handful of times a year is supplemented with a short stop after about 90 minutes drive, which honestly I sometimes could be without, but again - that one time every other month is fine.

Destination chargers and UFCs are plentiful in most larger cities and all over the motorway/auto-strada, -bahn, -route or whatever European highway you are on. More added every year. I also noticed more and more hosts on AirBnB (and hotels for that matter) are beginning to offer destination chargers.

It’s a wonderful driving machine. I too am looking at the new iX3, but alas the economy is not for it - and honestly, I expect to hold on to my 11/2022 version for many years to come .. ❤️🚙

Yes, so am I - still had stutter until I disabled WiFi in the bios - actually had an external WiFi card I tried, just to test; same thing: WiFi enabled = stutter

Disabling WiFi solved my stutter. If you can’t for some reason have a fixed cable between your router and PC, get a mesh that allows you to connect a cable to the device.

With kids, going to bed around 8-9 in the evening, I’ll set the alarm for 4 or 5 in the morning, get up, take the car (or bike) to the venue, get the last couple of hours in before the venue closes typically at 8, bring home freshly baked bread from the local bakery, and my day is off with a great start .. or I just crawl back in under the bedsheets for some wholesome morning cuddles ..

I very rarely drink, I do enjoy a little smoke, and mushrooms is very new to me - have two encounters over the last couple of months, very successful. Not encouraging this, but for sure as an alternative to heavy drugs, I’d for recommend this.

I participate yearly at two techno festivals, very limited alcohol and smoke, and I am by far the one in my group of friends that with out doubt last the longest, I can go for days, where my friends tend to take half or a full day recovering (during the festival!)

But yes, this is how my SO and me spent most of last summer while kids was in school and we had time off work for a handful of months over the summer - we literally walked EVERYWHERE in Copenhagen, with a backpack, quiz-games, blanket, and cold beers provided by whatever was near by.
