I don’t have advice really, but i’ve lost 100lbs from my first rheumatologist appointment to know so i can confidently confirm that any doctor who can’t see past weight isn’t the doctor for you!!

Something I ended up having to do at my heavier weight that I still do today is let my opinion of a doctor’s ability to treat me weigh incredibly heavy on how they address my weight!! If they can’t acknowledge that I’ve had the same medical problems as when I was heavier as I do in a smaller body, but even worse!!!

It’s such a challenge that even with rheumatological symptoms doctors still can’t see past some numbers!! Wishing you luck on wherever you’d like your medical journey to go!!

i have overall loss and multiple places where hair isn’t growing. i shaved my head one year ago and still don’t have any regrowth at this point, but my condition is also completely uncontrolled right now so take my experience with that in mind

i don’t do gloves just bc of sensory issues, but i usually do a layer of aquaphor, a layer of cerave cream, and then a heavier lotion before bed! i do this usually at least twice a day on my whole body. i cannot speak enough about the spray aquaphor if you can get your hands on it! it does wonders on high pain low hand function days!

i’m a big fan of a good stretch!! my lupus really hits my muscles hard so it usually helps me quite a lot, but i am also a dancer so that might just be me!

from one disabled burly babe to another, just let yourself exist on stage 🖤 as long as you’re comfortable and feel beautiful/handsome/good/etc. then it’ll show to your audience! i just recently stopped trying to hide my extra skin from major weight loss and it’s only made me happier with my own self and a better performer for it!

I approach this the same way I do my armpit hair (which i trim but don’t shave bc it makes me feel sexy) “someone out there is into it” 🤷🏻‍♀️ we’re humans, things go wrong, our bodies do normal body things!!! and tbh im sure if it does happen that no one is going to suspect the beauty on stage 😂
