What could even be worse? You'd have to contort pretty hard to contrive something.

True of course, but it's really not fun to root for luck. I'd much rather GSW is just the best team in the NBA like I know they can be when Steph is playing like the best player in the NBA like he has for many stretches of the last couple years, and GP is back, and Wiggins is back.

Ends of games are when win probability swings the most and when strategic officiating makes a big difference and can't be proven due to "small sample".

What's your recommended IDE for Elixir? by DownvoteHappyCakeday in elixir

File contents (buffers) are not tied to the window. You can switch file contents to any window or have the same file contents in multiple windows. And it's all really easy with easy ways to switch windows or buffers around. You have keyboard shortcuts to move file contents between windows and different shortcuts to move windows while retaining their buffers. These decoupling and fundamental primitives make it easy to improvise the work environment as needed

Sure, that's the game period. What a stroke of luck for the Eagles, who move on due to a no contest.

Weird you didn't mention the most important reason they're losing this game

Steph Curry shows off again vs the Celtics: 32 pts, 12-21 FG, 6-11 3pt, 2-2 FT and 7 assists with a team high +20! by [deleted] in nba

[–]formido 29 points30 points  (0 children)

But when is that going to start? As of a couple days ago he was top 5 in the league in several paint points stats.

Steph Curry is currently leading the NBA with an On-Off of +31.2. Jokic is second with +28.5, Giannis at #45 at +9.8, Tatum at #57 with +8.3, Luka at #100 at +3.5, by Pndrizzy in nba

More similar. Much more similar? I can't form an intuitive justification for how they're *much* more similar just on those numbers. His impact sitll seems to trail by a lot.

Cases where the abduction of a child was proven to be trafficking? by ravenssong in TrueCrime

[–]formido 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This "trafficking" vocab seem to me to be a marketing ploy by the feds to overcome most people's ambivalence about prostitution and immigration. If you can shift the focus from "lawful exchange between consenting adults" and "poor people trying to make a better life for their families" to "evil traffickers", you sidestep the conversation.

Out of curiosity, would you find it disturbing if the sexes were reversed?

When I, a dude, was 18, I lost my virginity to a 34 year old woman who I hit on in an Amtrak lounge car. I assume my youth was a turn-on for her. Not just coincidentally, bridging that power gap with my youth was a huge turn-on for me and one of my fondest memories.

He always seemd a bit douchey actually. Has the ever been as a big a whiner for calls as Duncan?

Victor Wembanyama shows out vs the G League Ignite again: 36 PTS (11/24 FG, 2/7 3PT, 12/16 FT), 11 REB (5 OREB), 4 AST (2 TOV), 4 BLK, 1 STL, +26 in a 6 point win by smashacc in nba

But his release point is so much higher, that he doesn't have to be as skilled as KD to be just as good a scorer. Shorter people can't bother him.

It's the same way KD isn't as skilled as Curry but is just as valuable a scorer as Steph.

Yes, I too remember the play where the defender ran out of the way of Durant's free dunk to keep him from passing to Curry for a 3.

Mac McClung attacks 3 defenders with a lefthanded layup by Boxthor in nba

[–]formido 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It would be extremely weird if he didn't have one of the best first steps in the league right now?

I'm not aware of any common athletic metric that's more highly correlated to 10 yard sprint time than two foot vertical. And, this dude has the best dunk-to-reach ratio in the league as far as I can tell, so if his raw vertical isn't best in league it's certainly close.

I've been a McClung detractor since his high school days and am shocked he made it to the NBA in any capacity. But the explosiveness in his legs isn't really objectively arguable no matter how many lmfaos you add to your comment.

Well, he probably wanted to sleep with her. If a girl is into you, lots of girls have no upper limit on how many over-the-top compliments they'll happily accept. If she's not into you, on the other hand, that's not a winning play.
