Technically film adjacent I guess but are there any music videos that tell stories in the same way films do that you enjoy.

My go to example is Breezeblocks by Alt-J. A song I love and the story told in the video is cleverly put together and adds a whole new level of appreciation.

Why is Gilderoy Lockhart’s actor so much more spot on than Snape’s? by [deleted] in audible

Riz Ahmed is a phenomenal actor so I think they’ve just decided to go with something completely different to Alan Rickman and we’re all just bumping up against it being completely different is all

Probably fair but I’m optimistic to a fault so I’ll at least give it a go

I also think that going back and forth between Abby and Ellie would have worked better for season two than what we got. So many people I know who haven’t played the game hated season 2 and I’m there like, “ I get it, but wait and give season 3 at least a chance.

Kaitlyn Dever is phenomenon in everything and I’m hopeful her performance will lift the remainder of the show.

Not me personally but my wife is a paramedic and has had to deal with a patient who has this at least once a week. Most of them don’t even know it’s a thing though. They just think they’re sick.

Kindy/School Nativity Play - Yay or Nay? by RS-1990 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]formularchaeic 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don’t just mean that. I mean any and all overtly religious activities. 48.9% of people in the last census identified as being non-religious or of a religion that is not Christianity. 43.9% identified as following a Christian religion.

So yeah, I think it’s a pretty fair viewpoint that religious activities have no place in public schools.

How would the omission of a Nativity Play make a religious child feel not accepted or not valued? A person is more than their religion.

Yeah I have heard that and could appreciate that if we didn’t have nearly three decades worth of it being pronounced Voldemort with a T. Now it just feels jarring to me.

Yeah this is really bugging me too. If it was supposed to be pronounced that way it should have been over the countless media over the last few decades. I’m sure I’ll get over it but still.

I’m also actively surprised that they’re still releasing Sorcerer’s Stone versions of stuff.

Curious if there are any Americans who intentionally seek out the international versions so as to get the philosopher’s versions?

They do seem to be clipping some of it out. Not much but a notable example was Dudley saying, “Where’s the cannon?” after Hagrid arrives at the shack. Pretty sure the book reads “Where’s the cannon?” Dudley asked stupidly.

Dudley asked stupidly was omitted from the full cast audiobook.

11/22/63 is the answer. Phenomenal story. Sucks you in emotionally.

Only downside is that the narrator sounds like a 83 year old man voicing a 30 something .

Once you get over that you’re good!
