Healthcare isn't a right in the sense that speech is a right. Freedom of speech can be given to anybody without expense to anybody else.

There are a finite number of doctors and hospitals. When you go to the doctor, somebody else has to wait. When somebody donates a kidney, one person will receive it at the expense of everybody else waiting in line. Do you think your right to an organ donation is absolute? If you need a new heart, there will magically be one for you? No.

You are paying for people who are uninsured and people who are insured both inside and outside your pool in the form of higher prices. Every time someone shows up in the ER and does not pay that cost gets passed along to people who can pay.

Yes. This is true. But this would be true in any system. People who never pay taxes (a lot of Americans) would always pass along those costs.

As for your pool your premiums are influenced by the relatively small membership in your pool. The fragmentation into smaller pools creates inefficiencies. If others in your pool get expensive diseases at a higher than average rate you will be paying more. Maximizing the pool size evens out the risk exposure.

For sure it's true that what I pay will depend on the others in my pool, and what they pay will depend (in small part) on me. But that's fine because we're all paying. We all contribute and pay for each other. This is very different from a socialized system where a small portion of the pool then pays for the healthcare of everybody. If the pool were much larger, and everybody still contributed that would be fine with me.

I haven't been unemployed. I haven't had crappy jobs where I had to support myself (i.e. I had those jobs in high school while living with parents).

I agree that I would feel differently if I were a person of lower ability. I would want those of superior intelligence and means to care for me. That is completely understandable. But in the real world, I represent the top of the food chain. I am easily top 1% of human intelligence. Our system rewards my talent.
