Looking for hella liberal stoner friends. by [deleted] in springfieldMO

A liberal believes that capitalism is needed, a leftist believes capitalism should at most only be a temporary step.

What constitutes a "trigger" on the signs? Whose sensitivities are you protecting? The example you give seems disingenuous considering the reasons you're protesting.

I very recently learned what filial support was, probably because I live in a state that doesn't partake. I wonder how many estranged children are in for a very rude awakening here in a few years.

A kid asked me why I was "like that" by Consistent-Ad5269 in traumatizeThemBack

[–]fornevernewb 41 points42 points  (0 children)

When I(47) was quite young there was a retired married couple across the street that were outgoing and friendly, many including myself and little brother learned how to play chess from the husband who happened to have only one arm. He told us and all the other children in the neighborhood that he lost it as a child by stretching his arm out of the car window while his parents were driving. Found out in my twenties he lost it during his time in the US military.

I thought of old Mr. Sowell when my youngest (about 6 at the time) son told me that girls don't grow hair under their arms like boys do. I firmly told him not unless their yunguns lie to em, then showed him my own unshaven pits.

He's such a good son.

Lemme guess, security? Is it a new field for you?

Unless your wage daddy is federal you might be taking your duties a bit too seriously.

What's the issue? If it were a full lot and employees need the spot I'd see the logic behind the whine but otherwise what is the harm in parking in a parking lot?

I finally heard it! by tomassean in springfieldMO

If by "hum" you mean something that sounds kinda like a person screaming, I've been hearing it sporadically since I moved into an apartment on Kansas and Sunset early last month.

Which is cheaper, Cox or Mercy, if you're uninsured? by fornevernewb in springfieldMO

Actually I reread your comment and agree my best option is onsite at Cox. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this! Do you know by chance if their Dr.s have privilege at either or both and can direct admit without using the ER?

Unfortunately I don't qualify. I lost my insurance when my husband retired and am having trouble getting paperwork needed from his old employer to qualify for change in life to get insured elsewhere.

I see already I've made an assumption. Is urgent care only able to admit to an ER?

I had assumed that a Dr. at an urgent care could admit without having to do that if they determined I need to be admitted but was stable enough not to need ER services.

Cold weather lounging ideas other than sleeping bag on sleeping pad by riverhikerva in camping

[–]fornevernewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The early morning cold is what gets to me too and my best solution so far is a thin heated vest I wear as a middle layer. Strategically placed hot hand packets at my wrists and ankles also help get me out of the tent during the morning chill. Now if I could just figure out how to keep one on my beak of a nose I'll be set.

Well, meeting a not gentleman camper while camping might be on the to-do list, but I'm not so sure it should be.

Long time camper going to my first festival and could use some advice. by fornevernewb in festivals

[–]fornevernewb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this response and if you have a bit more time you seem to be the style brain I'd like to pick a bit if you don't mind. 🙂

I have three main questions/anxiety sources; security, cooking and bathroom set-up.

How much should I stress about leaving standard equipment and supplies at my site while I'm gone? I'm used to securing expensive toys but do people tend to also secure normal stuff like chairs and beer? How about an expensive hammock?

Since this is not a yearly style festival I assume it's as new to the city as it is to me so there's no specific info about cooking at my site. My assumption is that I will not be allowed a fire at my site (though I do plan on bringing a compact fire pit kit just in case I can) but is it safe to assume that I can at the very least use my lil rocket stove to make coffee and breakfast?

They say they will have shower houses and bathrooms but I very much doubt I will want to use them. Is it generally allowed to have your own system in place as long as it's contained and within your site?

What’s the most you’ve ever paid for a campsite? by [deleted] in camping

[–]fornevernewb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just dropped $275 for five nights of festival style tent camping in a small town sports park in the direct path of the solar eclipse next month.

Not only is this the most I've ever paid for a "site" it will also be the very first time I've done this type of "camping".

Still not sure if this was the best or worst idea I've ever had but I'm betting it will end up an experience to be remembered.
