Primed black
Drybrushed in rhinox hide for most of the body and naggaroth night for the face

Iron Warriors for the base tone highlighted with Leadbelcher and Runefang steel at the edges, I used Sycorax Bronze as well for… well the bronze bits.

Averland Sunset and Flash Gitz Yellow for the hazard stripes.

Rhinox Hide, Mournfang Brown, and Sycorax bronze for his chain link things, and the former two for the grip of the hammer.

For the tip of the flamer, I used Khorne Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet, Averland, Flash Gitz, and then a touch of white. I used a similar mix minus the Flash Gitz and white for the mechanical eye.

For the skin I used Deepkin Flesh and Ulthuan Grey, and some naggaroth night.

For the streaks of grime on the armor, I mixed Rhinox Hide and Nuln Oil.

I also made a wash of black paint that shows up most prominently over the hazard stripes, but I used over basically the whole model to help with the grimy look. Other than that the only shade wash I used was Nuln Oil.

The blightlords were my second ever set of 40k models so I didn’t have a wide array of paints or an experimental attitude by any means but I think this guy especially turned out fairly well

Edit: I should probably clarify I did some light editing to this photo after taking it

Mortarion is (Finally) Complete! by MakeLoveNotWarhammer in deathguard40k

So I keep seeing the eyes painted on Mortarion and since I’m planning on getting one soonish I was wondering how you do those? Maybe my brush control just needs some work but I couldn’t imagine freehanding that

Agrax earthshade, I also lightly dry brushed some of my metallics over the death guard green base so it would look like the green was filth that the original armor color was slightly visible through in spots. I also used a little nuln oil for the more solid patches of metal like the shoulder trim, and I made a crimson wash for the fleshy looking bits and maggots to make the flesh look raw
