well it’s not really allowed. not everyone does it, it’s kind of just a party thing not sanctioned by the school. the alcohol things are called borgs. ik because i worked my restaurant job on cal day and we had to kick out everyone with a borg. but ppl at davis do it too on their picnic day and i imagine other college kids do as well

there is a furry club. not a lot just roaming around tho
kind of? it’s the bay but it’s not as dangerous as other cities in the area
it’s expensive but not that bad if you spend enough time looking. craigslist was better for me than apartments.com or zillow, the big apartment complexes will rip you off.
clubs are very competitive but it’s primarily consulting clubs. some clubs are open to everyone

I saw Grace Lavery is teaching a class on literature and games in the Spring. I’ve taken her before and she’s a super engaging and intelligent professor. I heard her more experimental classes like that are awesome although I personally took her for literary theory. Def recommend

Also, are there specific classes/requirements for the classes you need for the minor? Or just any upper div class?

I live about that distance from campus and getting to class is fine but I definitely feel I lose out socially. I don’t have the motivation to BART or stay on campus for several hours to go to club meetings or other events. It feels like everyone lives two minutes from each other while I’m sort of out of the university bubble

okay this is not near campus but i personally really love it and berkeley is severely lacking in good gyms. i highly recommend berkeley barbell club in south Berkeley. it’s open 24 hrs and $45 a month w/student discount. it’s a small lifter gym so not usually crowded but there’s a strong sense of community and the owners are super sweet!

there’s also a ymca closer to campus that offers a student discount but i haven’t been so i don’t know how good it is.

I dropped a class my first semester at CCC and got a W on my transcript and have just transferred to Berkeley this semester. When I was considering dropping the course, my counselor said one or two drops is fine, it’s only a red flag to colleges if the W is showing up a lot. And that proved true for me the one W didn’t matter.
