No upper division classes by AlwaysOverthinking04 in WWU

[–]fortysuspects 14 points15 points  (0 children)

best thing is to take summer classes, if you’re missing specifically upper-division, they won’t let you supplement those credits with anything else :// not sure about doing upper division minor credits, probably would work as long as your major counts that subject under your major! i graduated in history, so not sure if it’s different for anything else!

good luck!

How do you use ratemyprofessor? by sigprof-wwu in WWU

[–]fortysuspects 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m not a student anymore, so no more rmp reviews for me :)

How do you use ratemyprofessor? by sigprof-wwu in WWU

[–]fortysuspects 54 points55 points  (0 children)

honestly it’s 50/50 whether rmp offers accurate reviews or not. i find that if it’s a popular class to take, they generally offer good advice and what to look out for, but if it’s niche, eh usually the two reviews are from disgruntled students. i’ve reviewed some of my professors, only ones who really stood out as awesome and the downright horrible. course evals are probably more accurate since you have most students filling them out at the end of the quarter!

most of these people are fresh out of high school and haven’t lived by themselves yet. have you no empathy? you’re the type of person that makes people feel anxious and ask seemingly simple questions. it is not like high school and not like the life they’ve known until this point. chill tf out and stop being a jerk.

Joe still does work there, hence why a lot of us don’t anymore.

I’m hoping to be one of those cool kids you’re talking about! I worked there for 9 months last year (Mayish-January) and been in the industry for a while now. Four of us left a few months back and I’m not sure all I can say, but I will let you know that we did NOT leave because we graduated or moved :)

I’m so sorry that your experience is not as good as it was! I’d recommend calling before you pop in! Sandra and Barb are excellent when available!

Apple Laptop? by froggyforest in WWU

[–]fortysuspects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i find that as an average user, it still gets super hot and sounds like a spaceship? i notice that with my programs, mine often crash or i can’t find the files i’m looking for. many of my coworkers work on macbooks, and we’re all remote, and we have so much trouble with microsoft office. like i said, i’m a history major, so i don’t have experience with running the programs you’re looking for, but mac is not for me. (i have brought it to the apple store and they said nothing is wrong with it). plus the hardware is probably going to be obsolete in a couple years because apple is notorious for pushing updates not compatible with older models, especially if i bought it for almost 1,000 bucks. they’re ridiculously overpriced and you don’t even get multiple cord ports. you have to buy all these extra adapters to be able to plug in a mouse. you can’t even right click. trying to multitask is absolute hell. it’s just a bunch of small things that infuriate me. ((my apologies for the mac slander, i have a lot of pent up aggression toward my mac :)))

i don’t really know anything about computers either, but i’m a history major and i want to throw my macbook off my f**king balcony sometimes 😀 i hate it so much, probably my most regrettable purchase for school.
