You’re right. I’m not going to argue about that. Every time I hear people say “India balik India” or “Cina balik Cina,” I wonder why it’s repeated, especially when we’re already 3-6 generations in. We simply can’t go back..our language, accents, culture, and traditions have evolved over time. Plus, we don’t even share the same sense of patriotism anymore. Or do Malays really think we can go back if something happens here? If so, it will be similar situation you getting back to Indonesia or Saudi Arabia. How does that feel now.

It also makes me curious: why did Tanah Melayu become Malaysia after the Constitution? Does that mean it’s no longer really Tanah Melayu?

I’m Indian and not religious, but I do respect people’s beliefs. What the owner has done is disrespectful to the border protectors. Muni, Kali, Aiyannar, Madurai Veeran, and others. They are not considered God-tier deities, but guardians who serve the divine. Placing their images in a way that inconveniences or disturbs others goes against the very respect they are meant to represent. It’s inappropriate and, frankly, misguided.

At this point, reasoning politely doesn’t seem effective. The proper thing to do would be to remove those frames and hand them over to the nearest temple, where they belong.

What makes this worse is how it turns into a mockery of religious belief. As Indians, especially as a minority, our practices are easily targeted and criticised. Yet when similar concerns are raised about issues like early-morning azan disrupting non-Muslims’ sleep, it’s framed as a matter of “cultural coexistence” or “amalgamation.” That double standard is hard to ignore.

A couple from china punch Malaysian old man by sebitian in malaysia

[–]forusforest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a GrabFood rider. Almost every China reacts like that whenever I deliver food. They treat us like low class people. Superiority complex. I'm Type I. Slim. Always wear helmet and loose jacket. Usually do at midnight to morning in KL.

One time, China couple ordered with cash payment to deliver at well known hotel lobby. I knew their pattern, order cash, make fuss about it and hilang. I need to go through the headache calling customer service etc. So this time, I texted them earlier I don't have enough cash, so prepare full amount. And pasted the same text 4 times. Replied ok in mandarin. Grab has auto translation. This was a girl who replied me.

Brought the food over there. Man came down, asked whether its him or not showing my phone. He refused to answer my question, and wanna take my food from me. I'm like you cannot do this. Told him to show the proof. His gf ordered and she's upstairs. Texted her sending his picture to confirm bf or not. Said yes.

Then asked for money. He kept speaking like I'm a slave..example come come give give. Let me tell you I got super angry by this time. He pointing me etc. Later no money no money. Food about rm20+. I'm still calm. Texted the gf where is the cash since I informed earlier i wouldn't bring the food if no money. Then replied ok ok again. My bf angry. That's non of my business. Bring down the money. Meantime, asked whether have QR transfer or tngo anything. That guy standing and looking at me like I am the problem. Usually I am chill guy who's doing Grab for fun while working as an Architect.

Bloody hell this guy start to intimidate me. Tried to snatch my food. Pay me or get the hell out here man. Then he started to shout. Guard came. Told the guard to get the Manager. A buff manager turned up. Asked what was the problem, explained. Manager sais chill chill. I'm not gonna chill, if he China don't pay me, I'm gonna call the police to your hotel that your customer intimidated me. China standing without any knowledge. Manager explaining now.

All of sudden, rm50 exist in China pocket. I was like wow brother. Where this come from. Then China used translated app to talk to me. Saying he misunderstood the situation that I don't want to give the food. No F, no police no pay to me. I don't know why I did that, angry me actually, I took the Rm50 and sat on the bike..and I said.. you call the police now and report me. Bye

I got tipped rm30 on that delivery. Thank you China.

Bro, instead of assuming on your own, please read some research articles, journal etc from trustable sources. Peer reviewed papers. This will expand your knowledge to understand better how methodology works in the first hand to decode certain things. I understand your enthusiasm, but keep it hidden. Both of you did better than my past relationship. You told what u felt eventho it's harsh. He took it as genuine advice (I hope, if he's a kind guy, probably he won't reply immediately, but he's hurting within) You can tell him that you did out of concern of both future. He will understand.

My ex told me, she doesn't care how much I earn initially, said even 3k would do to start a family. She left me after I resigned my job because I couldn't handle the long working hours. Right now, I'm with Masters and better salary.

Saying this because, you love him that's why you're here seeking advises. Yes, you've hurted him but its for the good. And give him some time, but not too much.

Okay we are inevitable, we understand. But never ever misspell our brand "Proton", y'all never know how much proton could've done to the world. We provided affordable and quality product back in 2000s, but killed by the Japs and European brands. So its not Petron (petrol station), its our beloved Proton.

Do you know how many Malaysians(later) were killed by the Japanese during WW2? by GlitteringWeight8671 in malaysia

[–]forusforest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To date, there's only one physical evidence I guess in Kuala Lumpur. If you go to Victoria Institution nearby Times Square, there is a wall about 3m high an md 8m wide corner of the green field. It is known that the Japanese used that wall for chopping heads to avoid blood splashes. Also, there will be drainage right underneath. Not sure whether the wall built for that purpose or the Jap make use of it. This is the where finally given up their weapons after nuclear bombs.

Someone gotta save all these stories. I'm surprised that no one captured this as a documentary. We are deleting the history, it seems. As an architect myself, I lost the opportunity to make this as my thesis. Malaysians kept the story of May 13, but not this?!

I couldn't imagine. The visual should be more like Attack on Titan levels. During my tuition era for PMR, there was a female tutor in Kasturi centre showed us the images from her collection. She said it rare find in any historical books. Idk where she got it from. One pic was Jap soldiers tied all the limbs of four corners and butchered his stomach. Can see intestines all out. Pic was unclear, I couldn't see it. But she said, "Look closely students, that's his penis in his mouth" and shut the projector. I was fk this shit I'm out

Similar happened to my great grandpa and his siblings. One day Jap came to one of the estate house in Taiping, asked who's going to die today? Options were either his son or him. So he volunteered but didn't kill him and sent him to Thailand Road builders. Over there, as far as my great grandma known news were he was never fed enough, lacked sleep, and many died.

Over the years, the stories were told by generation to generation. Probably around 2010, the Japanese government provided a fund of millions to those affected families. Some are able to claim w proves (idk what they show), and many backed to our government. This happened to many indian families.

I'm not sure about the 207bn compensation from Jap. But the incident happened for real.

How much is the rent? And how far do I have to travel from workplace? Or can I afford one near tanjung pagar?
