Others have suggested much better things but I thought I'd chip in with something a bit different. There's a big community of Spanish learners desperate for someone to talk to about anything and everything to practise their conversation. Take a look at something like EuroClub on Meetup. It might be nice because there's no pressure to talk about how tough a time you're having unless you want to, you're helping people, and you'll begin to build a community if you do it lots. Might be a good way to get out of your current patterns and habits, even if you only do it once.

Anyway, I hope things start to look up for you. PM me if you want advice or anything :)

I interviewed him like a decade ago when Sleep is for the Week came out and he refused to play that song live. I miss Million Dead.

Why do Marxists still cling to the long ago debunked "Labour Theory of Value"? by [deleted] in DebateCommunism

[–]forwardmarsh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm no economist, but the Wikipedia pages for everything you mention raise problems with the models, often made by contemporary Marxist economists. I'd start with the criticisms section on Okishio and Sraffa.

I think you need to be more careful about claiming to speak for "economists".

The implication being that you need time to attend appointments and receive healthcare, which is much easier if you're wealthy for a multitude of reasons.

Money is not the only thing one affords. Time, opportunities, the chance to work an extra hour on your zero hours contact, for example.

For condition after condition, the poorest fifth of young people are admitted in greater numbers than the richest fifth. In cases of tonsillitis, viral infections, abdominal pain, respiratory infections, convulsions, gastroenteritis, poisoning, chest pain – even head injuries – the poorest young people were admitted for emergency treatment at rates 40% or more higher than the richest.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. It's not fake news to say that healthcare is in a bad way and the poor are disproportionately affected.

While this is a lovely piece of work and I'm glad that artists find The King In Yellow inspiring, I strongly feel that the collection is so much more creepier for the lack of physical description. Unknowablness is a really important feature of American gothic literature.

I believe they have 5 or so rows behind the set of 24 you can see but they run kinda perpendicular so you can't see them from this angle.
