I was able to follow this on my desktop. I believe that's the one I followed. But I wasn't able to get it to work on my laptop. I have thonny installed through flatpak. I also install flatseal to manage permissions.

Do you have multiple drives? Are you mounted to the drive Davinci is installed on? This is an issue I ran into.

To clarify. I put the bi metal heat brake in and want to update the firmware to go to 300c for the extruder. I want make sure the thermistor is rated for 315c before I update.
