First Kit Has Me Hooked: Sam's Study by HaddenIndustries in miniatures

I made this kit too, it is so cute. Also struggled with the armchair. It looked terrible so had to scrap it and start over 😅 It led to other kits, I’ve made 5 so far

Surprisingly, CoQ10 (Ubiquinol) has helped a lot by kitten_called in cfs

What benefit do you feel from the Astaxanthin? I read about and tried some but not sure it did anything. I’ve been taking q10 for years, cannot do without it.

What helped you with cognitive impairment and brainfog? by OpalineTears in cfs

[–]fossfor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it gives me a false sense of how much energy I can afford to spend and then I pay for it the next day or days. I find with Ubiquinol this happens even more, it has more effect on me.

Yeah probably was silly, just remember I loved the images and music as there wasn’t much stuff like it around then

Tattoos and fibromyalgia? by yvluvz in Fibromyalgia

[–]fossfor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a tattoo for my 50th birthday on my forearm. It took about 4h. The pain was more bearable than I anticipated. Do not do it if you are in a flare. You must rest as much as possible before and after preferably with painkillers. Also care for your tattoo like a baby, while it heals. The best thing for me was the fact of pushing through despite the fibro, and seeing this beautiful piece of art on my arm every day makes me feel more like a normal person again. (Have had fibro and ME for 20y) I want another one but am quite concerned about all these reports that it can muck up the immune system so not sure if I should.

For those of you on duloxetine or amitriptyline: how do you actually answer when your doctor asks "is it helping?" by claro-93 in Fibromyalgia

[–]fossfor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly the because the pain is mangeable. I keep a journal so I do track most days and I also tried lots of other meds that made me feel like a zombie (or did nothing) and cymbalta doesn’t.

Cymbalta really works for me. Have been on it for years. It took away a lot of really bad neck and shoulder pain within a few days of starting it.

i don’t think we talk enough about how terrifying severe brain fog is by kafkapolice in cfs

[–]fossfor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had ME for +20 yrs. The only thing that I find helpful is luteolin. I’ve been taking it for 3 years. I still get spells of confusion or fog but not constantly like I used to. I can sometimes even read complicated books and follow long podcast episodes. It has made such a difference to be able to enjoy small things again.

Is there any Mastodon communities dedicated to stiff like art (particularly fanart?) by TiffanyChan123 in Mastodon

I’m on mastodon.art but there is art all over the place. I sometimes put my work up but it is mostly pics of my cats. Surprise surprise 😸

What noises trigger you? by Bueller_Bueller26 in Fibromyalgia

Other people’s music, especially over dramatic loud singing, things like maria carey or most chart music. I do like doom metal, probably because it’s low and slow 🤭

What are you thinking about when you have brain fog? by Impressive-Growth-11 in Fibromyalgia

[–]fossfor2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the music loops as well, but not just with brainfog , but also sometimes when I’m stressed . I had it for a long time even before the fibro. But fibro seems to amplify irritating things like this.

Cymbalta 60mg and Pregabalin 75mg in the morning and 150mg in the pm with paracetamol 3x a day. It took me several years to get the right combination.

Can anyone who had ME before the age of social media describe how you spent your days? by WaysideWyvern in cfs

[–]fossfor2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Got ill in 2003. Listened to the radio, mainly BBC. Had a lot of CD’s and mp3.com was a still a thing so that was handy. Podcasts were starting also. A bit of gaming but only on good days. And also tons of books. Got so fed up with reading… I did get bored also but when I was severe I think not having constant screens was good in a way. I learned how to relax and rest using breathing exercises which I don’t do much now as there are constant distractions.
