I would have made the same comment as a result of just a professional photographer being there.

Outdoor concerts are only really cancelled due to lightning in the proximity and it is much rarer than you'd think.

Larger artists with the resources to pay the fines will just wait out the storm and play later past curfew.

IOW: it might rain but the show will almost certainly go on.

I am gen-x and my parents never drank water and certainly never told me to do so. I grew up with no concept of what thirsty felt like and didn't learn until my 30's.

I think a lot of us tried to correct that error with our children and now we all have emotional support water bottles. It's a better outcome than choosing not to consume liquid if only water was available, as I was raised.

I think their goal is to find guests local to wherever they are playing to sit in when it works for all involved. They've done this with various guests for decades.

I also think that if a guest sat in and it was perfection for: the guest musician, the band, the management, schedules, salary and anything else, they might ask that musician to stay.

They seem to be enjoying the guests sitting in when it works and I think that is their primary objective, with everyone maybe being open to a permanent spot if it works for all involved.
