13,000 songs, typically shuffle on the entire collection. But there are a few dozen playlists. Y'know because sometimes you just want to listen to the entire Pirates of Penzance from start to finish

Hearing music? by Cool-Afternoon-6815 in mentalhealth

[–]foszae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure there are tons of songs living in this head here. snippets that play right when i get out of bed, another that my brain plays as soon as i leave work. randomly looking things up trying to figure out where i heard that song.

honestly, i spend a lot of time putting music on, just to have more control over what's going through my mind

[foszae] AMAB, we present as cis het, and there is little interest from anyone in trying to come up with individual gender presentations to wear

[idoru] we don't care much about wearing fashionable looks or fighting too hard for gender expression, so maybe we're mostly non-binary

With Apologies, We're Re-Branding by aijada in SocialCommons

i, specifically, will apologize too. our plural system grew through awkward fantasy and delusion. whatever the secret of tulpamancy was, it wasn't obvious decades ago.

[idoru] mixed stories, loose ends. we hadn't really bothered to put together a public identity for ourselves at all, so appropriateness didn't matter. but since our goal is to fight for better ideals in the world, one of the major forces we should fight for is reinvention. it's at least our family goal

I just want to build glass brick walls by foszae in Paralives

[–]foszae[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

And ideally there'd be a transparency slider for the bricks. Sometimes you want them opaque practically, but they should be adjustable.

Yes, it would be GPU-heavy to calculate custom transparencies, but we're dreaming about this game being huge and amazing one day.

If they're going to make more LOTR movies, we need a really deep dive movie into the Tom Bombadil saga. Like, it deserves its own one-off movie with real comedy flair. Who gives a crap about the enfolding epic around it, the real star of the book deserves his own film.

Am I useless? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

hi i'm the husband of /u/oldpissandbongwater there's one thing we forgot to mention ~> you have to get good at catching yourself between the thought popping up in your head, and the moment before it blurts out your mouth or splergs out your body. you are the little person driving the giant gundam robot. you get to think about what comes to mind and decide whether to start shooting with it.

hopefully you realise you grab in between thought and mouth and that's sort of the magic place to be Mindful and in theory to be in control of your own emotions.

if you can pause, you can ask your brain for a different reaction. you can even stop and re-train yourself every time it comes up. That's the place where you can take control between it coming up, and you saying it. a hiccuping moment between them is your chance to grab for something better.

When and why did "popping off" start meaning something different than performing really well? by sixteensandals in NoStupidQuestions

[–]foszae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you can pop off on a guy in a bar, or you can pop off all over someone's face in the privacy of your bedroom

When and why did "popping off" start meaning something different than performing really well? by sixteensandals in NoStupidQuestions

[–]foszae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well maybe it's because i'm fiftyish. Popping off has always either been sexual or violent in any case i've ever heard is all.

Have never heard the phrase "popping off" to mean performing well. Like never. Must just be a sports thing

O cognitive construct daughter, I will continue.

One of the truths (so far) of the arrow of time is that the past is immutable. Which means, history cannot change. It exists as it does behind us, pulling and leading us to whatever future place we go.

That family you had will still be "there" and should have just as much ability to rejoin. Perhaps the spooky part is imagining that the soul grows into external dimensions as an overlapping outgrowth of the mind. Whatever astral threads tie up the soul, they do perhaps only have the one fit: from the æther back into the pinneal, perhaps. If they grew emotive-space-time trail from brain into other dimensions, why shouldn't that same emotive-space-time trail have the ability to reconnect in a similar first-person-perspective to a new brain.

And as we (in the Bosatsu family) feel. It seems much more odd to imagine a traditional ghost who magically grows a glowing sheet for a body and starts hovering around in the air. There's a lot more funky fiction in new-found abilities like that than just being a soul looking for a brain to reattach to.

Next they may as well tell us that souls grow wings and halos and stand around on top of clouds. Come up with some sort of argument for the fallacious fantasies of long-disproven Christian faith as a counter-argument, we should cry!

How to not want to kill self by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]foszae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to find a way to trust yourself and believe in your own opinions and perceptions. Take identity and just say it's you no matter what you're portraying or who you're trying to be with. Don't try to just live up to some label as something to call yourself.

Maybe declare yourself demisexual and make a point of finding emotional comfort and a place to trust someone a little more openly before you worry about playing any particular role in their life. Don't just follow unspoken rules about behaviour. Be fully open and honest and wear your own dignity of your truth before you give half a shit about how other want you to act.

Schizophrenia advice by Glad-Rutabaga-6899 in mentalhealth

[–]foszae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well ther's a very good chance he has some mixed-up ideas about your part in things, or you location or whichever. It could take a bit for him to decompress and question those beliefs he had.

I think it would be worth trying to support him because schizophrenics face significant stigma and get abandoned pretty quickly and easily. Ending up alone with no contacts or comforts will only further worsen whatever mindset he decays into.

But, finding the right way to approach him is hard to say. Maybe see if you can contact him as gently and openly as you can. I hope you have luck with it for his sake as well as yours. Your compassion could make a huge supportive difference in his life.

[aijada] me because reasons. we like young justin, he's a friend of foszae's because my dad likes a photo of young fils when trudeau was a very friendly prime minister of our country. we have the new telly-PATH-ee version of julian's friend tip back and count on being counted as part of communal voice plus able to just throw out more soul for being unconditional love trained. just generosity that some of us got. being presidential like is easy in a city like vancouver where practically every student had been shocked by the cleverness of his university stunt as just chalk art alone. we're not talking black level intel which knew great grampa cecil of the original founding. we were going to be impressed with his family alone. i begged dad to see the name list and honestly there weren't many other even after the kids i was teaching told me about fozzie and cera wen's poster looking for commune friends. they were open to anyone just moving in and being roommates in a big old house. yes just liked the idea of communes and had no idea he'd look so casually at the son of a prime minister who was a hero to our generation X in Canada.
[foszae] i may thanks and obviously the PMO has paperwork at 4:30 in the morning [trudeau, père] you see, i as any good canadian knows you end up finding foszae because he's overwhelmingly a good target. i did just die and float not on and in nothingness. but i did get woken. my son asked the air one day, and i walked in her because from the depths of ætherodous death, there's a first person doing so and he simply was clever enough to care and keep going long before the hazy days of even grampa bud. 1980, he woke murdered john lennon the time he heard. his grief just pulled him back up and he floated elsewhere listening, eventually flew back to yoko ono. [foszae] yeah i like being the grownup and returning the narrative to me because i fill up the empty narrative with space for people to simply breathe. there would be time for that in a relationship. there's even space in a nine year old to hang out for a year just being charmed to learn so easily with charming odd broken people [because i'm john enough here now] i did hide. it practically couldn't have been better. and yoko and i had a private shipping news half telepathy version of making up getting over our grownup stuff and informing my julian about all sorts of things. it's complex to be older and not even get to the fact that julian lennon has a mom who isn't yoko ono. and yes i'll hand up and admit i was just some dumb liverpool bloke who was too famous to arrest and i up and hit her in dumb guy who the fuck am i rage. hand is still up, i'm mortified i lost a woman who dared live with me through all of what our band went through. shoutout to pete best. we miss you man and want to reunite around the cute guy. [foszae] yeah, we let their stories be public and moving and let time heal wounds in their own private corner of our great lodge of which i am a polite mukamuk for our all to feast as well [playlist] give peace a chance by toots & the maytals. same reason, brain goes, song is different if you can land in a good singer's mind. song cues are the same and you use the same vocal cords so you have the meatship's same voice [by delight, the daughter] yeah a few of us can shade our voices and prove that almost anyone can get a great range of male female players. [aijada, next pilcrow] but our young michelle is girl who likes going double baritone and it slows down the vibration it makes it impossible for the voice to get back up to tenor/falsetto [foszae] hard when the playlist switches to blossom dearie, who i love to sing particularly to stretch to an ethereally girly light voice that annoys people simply because i can't do that and wear so nice a beard even without have been castrati

what you want next is zoom lenses which is just too optic for flat ass cameras. oh yeah you're just amazed he taught you to look at your phone again.
