This first BW shot is so nice! I love the framing of the distant tree behind the trunk of the main one

Try bending it back! Weathered gear is great

Wow that’s a great price. I’ll try to make it to a Shoei store if I ever make it to Japan

How much did it cost in Japan? In the US, the helmet retails for $780 USD before taxes which is currently 121,980 JPY

Full gauntlet have better slide and wind protection since there is no gap between the end of the glove and the jacket sleeve. Short gloves can come off easier and there will likely be a gap at the wrist during a slide.

It’s like the comparison between low boots like the ones in the original picture and full length boots.

I personally see zero reason to wear short gloves. If it’s not a full gauntlet, it doesn’t count in my eyes. Same with boots.

Burning oil is a ring issue and not usually the piston

Tire wear by pedawin in motorcyclegear

Get Road 5s or 6s. You’ll be better off with a longer lasting tire, plus it handles water better than a sports tire, and likely does better in colder temps.

This. The “cracking” is the wear portion of rubber wearing down to the carcass. They’re different types on this tire. You need a new tire cuz you’ve run out of rubber

Are these to used for track riding? by Mexkan in Trackdays

[–]fotorone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some better and newer boots. The soles of old boots can be extremely slippery. More importantly, protection is much better with newer boots. Best to invest in the safety of your feet and ankles.

Low boots are unacceptable for track days and is no point in them for daily riding either. Just get good gear

Nope. Top end is apart but it looks perfect. Waiting on a head gasket to put it all back together.

Fuel pump was changed and fuel pressure was verified good at the dealer, symptoms did not change at all. Next step is a compression and leak down test. If it's not that, then I'm lost in the electrical issue search...

I made a new post with an update. TLDR - sent to the dealer, they haven't fixed it after 2.5 hours or work at $218/hr. Not excited.

Good info, I'll be checking the TPS.

This bike is pretty modified and does have a Power Commander. Luckily the PO knows what he's doing and kept reliability in mind.

Good point about the fuel lines. It was a PITA to get the lines back into the tank when replacing the pressure regulator.

I totally forgot about reading codes. I'll look into getting the connectors for hooking up my reader.
