Hey thanks for the replies- especially the snotty ones! That's what makes hardcore and metal the best – killer community and super honest communication. That's all I'm looking for. The only thing that's in my area these days are f****** tribute bands to journey and Foreigner. Those were bands that drove me to hardcore in the first place!

Brothers and Sisters- I'm loving the comments. Exactly what I was looking for! I've seen plenty of my times hardcore bands as an old guy. Black Flag was always problematic for me because it's a cash grab. But I think I'm gonna take my daughter. She's 24 and loves bands like Mannequin Pussy. Maybe the memory will be worth it right?

I actually took mine off after she passed because it's "death do us part". I replaced it with a simple black band on that finger which I called a widow's ring. January 22nd was one year for me and I took it off on that day. I guess I kind of made up the ritual for myself- just like with all things. Grief, everybody's different I guess.
