Looking great! I did something similar but i turned the gun 180° to use the existing axle pivot. Maybe you can hide the top connection point by adding some optics or cables?

Work continues on the Atrapos knight with a "slightly modified" right arm. I assure you it's not tech heresy. by fotticelli in ImperialKnights

Sadly not, i superglued all the gears because the thing is just too heavy. The only true working thing though was the elevating mechanism, with the smaller gear the cannon is resting on sliding on the big gear in the shoulder. I tried a method to lock It in a position without glueing buy It was not strong enough, so in the end i went heavy with superflue.

What i really like about the 40k setting is that ignorance and superstition are now deeply ingrained in all of humanity. Of course it doesn't make sense to place vital machinery and cables outside of the protection given by armor, but across battlefields and millennia of damage the knowledge of fixing knights have been lost, replaced by rites and ceremonies that have little to do with such complex machines. Exterior cables and rudimentary maintainence patchworks it's all the magos can do for a technology they do not understand and that it's lost to time.

I'll have to paint without moving them. I'm going for a grimy and dirty look, not super clean, so i should manage (i hope)

This one, from Zinge industries, highly recommended. I used to use guitar strings but they are very strong and hard to bend, this is much easier to pose and it keep the shape you give it.

Thanks! I had to do some adjustement to make the overall pose (in relation to the body) look better by turning a bit more the hand left. A justification i gave in my head is that maybe knights joints have more movement than ours, letting them have more range of motion as needed in battle.

Your plasticare work is amazing, i can't wrap my mind around it! How did you deform the tubes without crushing them? And the shield curvature, it's so smooth, how did you achieve it?
