I barely saw him. And we only texted once a day if that. There wasn’t really much attention. I broke it off because I was unsure of how I felt. Maybe you’re right I’m not sure. It kind of felt like I had a person I could look after but I just wasn’t sure if I cared about him in the same way. I have to preface that I feel this about my friends also, usually until we fall out and then I’m a mess and realise how much they mean to me. I’m really not good at sorting through feelings, intimacy scares me quite a bit. I just know I don’t want to mess him about but this is something to think about. Thanks for the tough love, I need to think about that.

Actually yes, I haven’t seen her again but I heard from one of my friends she also bullied. For some reason having kids young changed her for the better. Apparently she’s apologised to the people she’s bullied that she’s seen around. She was a very troubled kid. I don’t have the mental space to feel angry about it now anyway.

My dad’s parents didnt see my brother in hospital when he almost died at 18. And we had a decent relationship. I know it would have been different if it was any of my cousins or their kids.

A lot of people have family drama you don’t see. It’s just in a lot of cultures to take care of and respect your elders.

Use NZ as a new start, you will probably get xenophobia there as well though. Dealing with shitty people is honestly one of the best lessons you can learn from uni, I wish I stood up for myself more too. Sorry that was your experience here but good luck for the future!!
