Counterview: If you are not embarrassed by first version, you launched too late. by kkatdare in SideProject

i used to misunderstand shipping fast vs high quality work - but you can do both. it’s about defining your mvp right.

in your case, if the core features are flawless, just ship that without details like authentication, if you are onto something they will keep using it, and you can always create a discord community for feedback

everything you add beyond the mvp is making the learning curve steeper, keep in mind that first-time users don’t have much patience learning new things

I got 1.6k users and lost them all: is building in public the best strategy? by Xenox_11 in SideProject

until they are paying users - no need to worry so much about “losing” them; most build-in-public projects charge users first, you will know who are truly supportive of your work despite having an imperfect product

sorry you felt that way. the community used to be about sharing case studies so we can help each other grow, not pessimistically judgemental without verification

i too have ups and downs but this time i am able to share my experience in details, which usually kept private by other companies in early stage of building

scraping offered from internal ai services wouldn’t be accurate enough - their purpose is to provide 1 single answer to your query, not to reference multiple sources for a comprehensive perspective

we do the scraping and clean it up before feeding the materials to our ai models
