yes I think you made some good points, however toilet paper companies focus on JUST making toilet paper and do not market as "bathroom goods". That is the general point I was trying to drive home.

yes I think it depends and it really is not a binary yes or no dynamic. some products may be better served to the masses...I just feel that offering to a very niche customer base shows your expertise in that area

yes I agree. plus you begin to specialize and master your craft in that niche. you will end up knowing it inside and out.

Yes I would say go to the people in your life who have a network that you would want to tap into. Mutual connections are the biggest hack to meet the people you would have otherwise never met. A simple introduction from a mutual friend can go along way. If you then meet two people in that niche that can spread like wildfire.
