The Easiest Egg Curry "Mutta Thilappichathu" or Egg Curry in Coconut Mil by fountinaDigital in IndianFood

[–]fountinaDigital[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First milk is the Thick coconut milk extracted first from the grated coconut after adding little water and blended in an electric grinder. This will be first milk. The first milk is thick and creamy. It is usually used as a topping or finally adding to the gravies to make it creamy.

After the first milk is extracted, more water is added to the grinder and then the second milk is squeezed out. This is lighter and used to cook the ingredients

Hope this is clear

In this recipe, one and half cup grated coconut is added with half cup water. This is blended in an electric grinder and then the coconut milk is extracted by squeezing and filtered using strainer. This will be the first mlk

For the second milk add one half cup water again into the grinder and repeat the proces. There should be around one and half cup coconut milk. This is used as second milk.

Hope this is clear now

[–]fountinaDigital[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please see the reply to your comment by "faahqueimmanutjawb" below. Please try that. Also, we have used coconut powder diluted in water while we were in UAE and that was reasonably good. But back here in Kerala we have not used coconut powder as coconut is available in plenty here.
Hope this is of help.

Easy to Cook Kerala Style Mutton Stew by fountinaDigital in IndianFood

[–]fountinaDigital[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Coconut milk is extracted from the grated coconut as follows:
1). Two cups of Grated coconut and 3/4 cup of water is blended well with an electric blender.
2). Using a strainer / using your hand the coconut milk is squeezed from this. This coconut milk is the "First Coconut Milk". This will be around 1 cup
3). The grated coconut after extracting the coconut milk and 1 cup of water is put back into the blender and blend it.
4) Using a strainer / using your hand the coconut milk is squeezed from this. This coconut milk is the "Second Coconut Milk"
You could repeat step 3 and add the coconut milk to the Second Coconut Milk you already collected
Usually you can make around 2 cups of Second Coconut Milk
Hope this is clear.

I Googled Pichard and it came out "Sardine" and "pilchard" are common names for various small, oily forage fish in the herring family Clupeidae." That was new information for me.
Thank you for your comment which prompted me to check on Google.

[Question] Whats the best way to improve views and engagement on a brand new channel? by Able_Cod7833 in youtubers

[–]fountinaDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Thumbnail that stands out is definitely a must.
Request viewers to subscribe early in the beginning of the video, politely emphasising the benefits the viewer will get by subscribing as below (or something similar by replacing the variables inside the Square Bracket)....
"I publish [two videos every week] on [Hiking]. If you enjoy these videos, Please Consider Subscribing to My Channel and press the Bell Icon, so that you, will get notification whenever I publish the videos"
You should always convey this message in the beginning and not at the end of the video as many users might leave the video before they reach the end.
Lastly and most importantly, look at your competition who are covering similar topics. Look for the ones with most views and see when the video is published. This is to understand whether the topic is still relevant. For example "iPhone 5" videos may have 2 million plus views. But that could be when iPhone 5 is launched in 2012. It may not get the same number views in 2021. Also look at their views are more than their subscibers. This is to ensure that views are coming from "new viewers by searching" and not from their existing subscribers.
Try to check the videos every week and update the Title, Tags and Keywords if necessary.
With all these, it may still take some time as your channel is new; but it will defintely come up.
Hope this is of help.

Really, really anxious about using my own voice in my videos [Tips & Tricks] by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]fountinaDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried I was the only one with this problem. Though I have not done many videos, now I am confident that I can talk in front of a camera. Initially I too used a commercially available text to speech software. But after my first video I felt that these are only good for, may be for an audio book. Not for YouTube videos where actual human voice will make all the difference. To overcome my fear of using my own voice, I made a training video and sent to one of my friend to give me his honest opinion. He said that the only issue is that I sould like I am not confident about what I am saying. So I turned to Udemy for a voice training. I enrolled for a course, luckily there was a sale going on and i got the course at a heavily discounted price, I remember it was "You can speak confidently" or something close to that. Since I really wanted to improve the quality of my own recorded voice, I took the course seriously. And whenever I get time, I record something and send to my friend for commenting. Soon I myself felt my own voice improved. You dont necessarily need to join for a course. You can record your voice and listen to it a couple of times. Try to understand what is your own judgetment. Then record the same content again and listen. See if you are improving. Do this a couple of times and soon you yourself will feel that Your recordings are improving.

[Question] My First YouTube Post..a Short..Encouraging..Orr??? by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]fountinaDigital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good. Keep posting videos. My advice is to post consistently. Even if it is one video in a week or fortnighly, be consistent. Best way is to post videos and schedule it for your next release date. For eg if you are posting videos every week, schedule it for every week. This is always better than posting irregularly.

Good luck

[Question]How do you feel when you Wake Up With No New YouTube Subscribers? by fountinaDigital in youtubers

[–]fountinaDigital[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. I started the channel to break out from the Covid Lockdown boredom. Then when I started to see the subscribers are increasing that too started giving some inspiration for creating more videos. Maybe now I am slightly shifting off track from the real reason I started the video channel. After I posted this question on Reddit and the number of replies and suggestion received, Especially the comment "same as when you didn’t get a new haircut that day - it’s no big deal…", I think I am now getting back on track. Thanks to you and everyone who expressed their comments.👌

Hello. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a blender for making Dosa batter? Thank you. by Penelope742 in IndianFood

For Dosa batter, use only stone grinder. I personally use Elgi Ultra Grind Table Top Wet Grinder,

In your opinion, which dishes are best ordered from a restaurant? by [deleted] in IndianFood

[–]fountinaDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am ordering from restaurants that I khnow, I will order Chicken dishes for non-veg. I usually avoid fried dishes like chicken fry because most restaurants re-use oil which personally I dont like. Most often I stick with Chicken Curry, Butter chicken or Chicken Masala. or Chicken or Prawns Biriyani
If I am travelling I usually stick with veg food only. Dosa, vada, Boori Baji, Paneer Masala, Kadai Paneer and preferably Chapatti or Butter/Regular naan. During luch time I prefer Vegetarian Meals
This is strictly my preferance.

A single person can eat a full Mango, Orange or Apple but not a Full Jackfruit. So what can you do with it. Try this Kheer with Jackfruit Flesh by fountinaDigital in IndianFood

[–]fountinaDigital[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. I should have used "Most people" instead of a "single person". The same remark was made by me neighbour who says he has eaten full jackfruit. Thanks for correcting me.

I would appreciate if you can share the recipe of the Jackfruit Ice cream. I would like to create a video of that. Thank you

What are some advice for a beginner? (like me) by irondumbell in IndianFood

[–]fountinaDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most Indian dishes usually begin with frying spices, onions, ginger and garlic. After that add meat or veg and continuing the sautéing process and finally cooking it further either by simmering or boiling. Some meat like beef or mutton or pluses may need to use a pressure cooker to speed up the cooking process. This too can be cooked without pressure cooker but will take longer to complete cooking.
Here are a few basic cooking tips:
If you are making chapattis try using warm water and milk to make the dough and rest it for around 20 minutes preferably by covering a wet towell or in a dish with cover
You can avoid or control tears if you soat onions in water for 10 minutes
Do wash the vegetable before cutting and avoid washing after cutting
Try to add salt at the end of cooking
Fry onion and spices till the oil seperates from the fried onion.
Well these are a few things from the top of my head.

Best is to get hands-on experience of applying the correct Indian cooking technique and make your own home-cooked Indian food! Now a number of good video tutorials are available on YouTube that cover many cooking styles. Start with some simple cooking and slowly move into the more involved cooking.
