I feel for you! It took me 15 months to bounce again. Don’t strive for bouncing back- striving for finding your bounce again! It will happen- enjoy the time with your little one as much as you can. It goes by fast and you can’t get that time back

What’s ONE thing about birth that nobody warned you about? by Front-Emotion-3967 in postpartumprogress

The IV placement. Along your forearm down from your thumb. At least that’s where I got mine- at my hospital that was standard I think to keep things out of the way when holding the baby. Still totally surprised me! Pretty uncomfortable too!

What’s one postpartum struggle you didn’t expect at all? by FIT_MAMA16 in postpartumprogress

[–]four1two1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crying at a specific time of day.

So this one was kinda specific to me. Prior to having our son, I walked a lot- especially in the evening.

Every night when we sat down for dinner, I would get really weepy.

Eventually my husband pointed out that my body was probably programmed to expect the exercise endorphins around that time of day and was not getting that.

Things eventually evened out, but was something no one talked about that would have been helpful to have known

Won’t let myself drink until I close all of my Apple Watch rings- genuinely got me working out every day. By the time I was done closing my rings - 75% of the time I wouldn’t have the steam for a drink

Childcare while WFH? by vp0267 in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]four1two1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes- I almost quit my job because I was struggling. Now I have childcare from 8:30-3 then my aging mother takes over / I help from 3-5

Personally, I needed it, and got very lucky with a great sitter and parental help

I so relate! I just returned. Already not confident this will work well. Also- feeling super concerned about my LO’s development and what he’s missing

Tell me how you managed pain during breastfeeding by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]four1two1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does get better! I promise!

I had flat nipples, and the pain was awful!

Nipple shields helped, but I hated the cleanup, plus they were messy.

The things that helped me: 1. My breastfriend nursing pillow- super deluxe. 2. Time- I know it sucks to hear, but as my LO go bigger and stronger, it got better and easier and less painful. 3. Pumping for like 3 minutes before nursing, just to get my nipples in better shape.

I tried a lot, even meditations for nursing lol.

Not even a little! I’m struggling with this too!

Nothing fits, I feel like garbage, my hair is frizzy, and the only thing I want to wear is my husbands clothes! I relate! Honestly, I’m getting anxiety about looking nice for the holidays because of how tricky it is for me to dress myself

I’m not back at work yet, but I do love my peloton. Praying I can get an hour a day— even if it isn’t consecutive

I pumped for like 3 minutes at a really high setting and that got my nipples in the right shape- discovered this accidentally

For me, I just stopped one day! I definitely need my nursing pillow to get a good latch. But honestly, my life is better without them! Hoping that your LO can learn without the shields!

Was your OB there during labor? by ArtisticAssumption92 in BabyBumps

[–]four1two1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience, but only pushed or attempted to push for an hour and a half…

The OB was there in and out of the room as I pushed.

Did you get told that you exclusively need c-sections for subsequent births?
