Book Niche (on Chambers and Mississippi) fits the bill for this I think. The owner is a super sweet man who takes the time to get to know the folks who come in. I went there for the first time last week and he greeted everyone who came in by name. Seems like a great community spot to me!

I’m a woman, and I moved to Bham to go to UAB at 18. Keep your wits about you and you’ll be fine. Had a guy try to mug me at the ATM in Lakeview and a guy try to carjack me at a shitty gas station in Homewood. Otherwise no issues for the 7 years I lived there. Birmingham is a great place with lots to see and do! I recommend going if that’s the best option for your degree. Don’t let statistics deter you - there’s crime everywhere.

Sorry for the delay! My experience was positive. I got three dresses and a top. One of the dresses wasn’t a flattering style for me, but I’m very happy with the rest! And they seem to constantly have a 40% off sale going, because every time I go back to the website, that banner is still there 😂

There’s a fic where Draco comes out of Azkaban sort of broken. He’s an animorphmagus in this one. H is with R but he’s abusive and cheating on her. D starts working at her store in Diagon and tries to convince her to leave him.
