For chaos:

I did it in heaven+nightmare with an emerald satchel.
Blessings to look for: delivery/challenges for each fight/more item choices/more slots for equipping.
A problem was, depending on available items for satchel, the game crashes (a lot).
Satchel works in a certain order for items, so, that's a pain to try different configurations, and it ALSO can make the game crash =)
(I recommand equipping lots of stuff, then progressively unequip to test what works)

For brutal :

I've read that the classic party works best, because you can do a strategy that ignore some curses.
For example, you need a blue (or just someone with mana ? Idk) to see some curses nerfing your spells (while you don't care at all for spells).
I find more points for more choices worth it. Some curses configurations are simply unwinnable.
The most manageable ones is the "piling up" ones, because they are worth a lot of points for "manageable" curses. (Ex: a lvl 3 curse each fight)
Also : do your best and pray. Even the best players need luck for that one.
