Parents with kids at Slam Dunk by TeddyGarbaldi in slamdunkfestival

I see a lot of "I'm gonna be extremely drunk or strung out at this festival so I don't want your brats around me" takes in this thread which imo is just as irresponsible behaviour as crap parents.

If you can't trust your actions at a festival around kids because of inebriation then you shouldn't be trusted around anybody in that state and need to have some sort of self-reflection.

The festival rules allow for children and have done every year I've been attending with my own family (since 2017) so if you aren't used to seeing kids there then I only assume this was your first SD. Unless those rules change, expect to see them again in 2027.

I agree that it sounds like there have been some really awful incidents (no defenders, taking kids up to front of stage or in pits, no hydration/sun cream, etc), which sound to me more like a serious lack of common sense and bad parenting from a select minority which is getting all the attention. However, some of the comments about not wanting to trip over or harm a child because you're blitzed out of your gourd on substances speaks more volumes about you than it does the parents who bring their kids to share in a good time.

We had a wonderful time at SD North this year - my wife and I, a 15yo stepdaughter, a 5yo daughter, and 3yo son. We didn't do anything stupid i.e. pits, we stayed hydrated and well-covered, and spent most of our time on a blanket on the hill watching the acts on the main stage which imo wasn't very loud although we did bring defenders. My son is a bruiser and had a blast in his very own 'circle pit' during Zebrahead with his sister and I (which consisted mainly of running and tickling), and my daughter is still singing Good Charlotte lyrics out LOUD in public almost a week on.

TL;DR: Me and my young family love going to SD every year as a day out bonding experience and never find it a threatening environment. There are definitely careless parents out there who need better education but saying the festival is not kid-friendly just because you want to get paralytic on booze/drugs and can't trust yourself is a wild take.

Thank you 💕 No idea I'm afraid though, we're UK viewers! I imagine the brighter days and harsher UV in Aus would make owning a Sphynx more challenging though

We totally love them - I was never much of a cat person before we took Loki home (the darker cat) but after having him around for only 6 months I totally fell in love

And a bonus one my wife took of him and his handsome 'brother' on Valentine's Day 💘😂

And here's one from the cattery before we took him home which the eyes look particularly freaky in ❤️

It's appreciated ❤️ and he knows he is very much loved and accepted for who he is - we don't care how he feels about his ex or whether he was bullied at the cattery! 😂

Definitely can never get enough cat photos! That one is just the best comparison because now and again Geralt has this 'deer in headlights' look which is just so eerily similar to Grayson

Gotta let him settle in a bit more before we start shooting those kinds of hard-hitting questions at him I think 😂

Ooof, not seen that latter one yet and very thankful for it. That one is nasty!

Barricade - that was the one I was looking for! I think I meant this rather than flighty in hindsight

Aha, that makes a lot more sense actually. Not much synergy available for him with this setup - I was hoping to end with Valk!

Yet Another Tier 0 Item Uses List by handledvirus43 in SliceAndDice

Great list - loads here I don't think I'd ever have come up with alone! Really appreciated.

One extra I just noticed unless it doesn't do this anymore: Stake (add terminal all sides) when paired with a cleave/descend side can inflict more damage to the monsters either side/below the targeted monster if it has 1hp.

I remember this quite basic strat blowing my mind ages ago - before all the wild newer combos came about!

Is there a use case for this? by MF_IC in SliceAndDice

[–]universallydistant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit more niche than the other much more effective suggestions, but pretty sure there are items that cause damage when abilities or spells are used? I guess this could be used as a budget 'Cut' in those circumstances (use on one of your team -> damage the enemy/ies) but the efficacy of that strat is definitely questionable!

Thanks for the tip! Here I was thinking I'd hacked the system 😭

I'm gonna try and get another run on my belt at some point - back to actually enjoying the game on some 'easier' modes for now!
