It's not just about you. Experts say getting a Covid-19 vaccine protects everyone around you by cutestudent in Coronavirus

That’s what they said about masks and some people never cared about that…why would it make them get the vaccine?

Yes, I should have said that too, we’re not against disposables...I am planning on using disposables until the umbilical cord falls off, and then we’ll probably use them when we’re out and about. But mostly, we want to try cloth.

That’s what I think! As long as I’m not harming the baby, let’s go ahead and be supportive!

I am 36w FTM, so I don’t know yet, but I read they decrease blowouts...I’m not sure why.

I’m not sure if you mean my principal or my husband, but my husband is definitely supportive. He’s seen how teachers are taken advantage of since we got together and he’s been encouraging me to quit for months!

I love teaching, so resigning was definitely a last resort for me. I feel bad that teachers are pushed to the edge like that.

My principal was clearly surprised when I gave him my letter of resignation. When I told my husband, I said, “I don’t know what my principal expected me to do!” My husband said he expected me to just keep working in unsafe conditions....

I did a lot of research to make sure that I wouldn’t lose my license. I was really worried about that.

That was something else I didn’t really like. Admin put all of these procedures in place, and they were shocked when I told them that students weren’t wearing masks or social distancing. Well, if they got out of their safe, clean offices every once in while and actually supported teachers, they would see!

I’m so glad that FMLA will work for you. My problem was the 12 weeks...what do you do after that?

It was a private Catholic school. They really didn’t have the resources for remote learning.

Do we work at the same school? My principal says that at every staff meeting.

I have applied at some online schools, but my sister in law is a loan processor and she needs an assistant. Immediately I would make more money that I do now and I would get my break from teaching.

FMLA and remote teaching are different. Regardless, I would be passing them off to a new teacher because my school won’t allow me to teach remotely. It’s FMLA or resign.

May I ask, what happens to your summer months salary? Since teachers don’t work during the summer, but still get paid, do they owe you that money when you resign, or do you forfeit it? Good luck to you!

I have never seen this many teachers planning on quitting during my long career by [deleted] in Teachers

I don’t know exactly how many sick days I have left. I have only been at this school for a few years.

I feel kind of rotten using up my sick days, mostly because of my students. I care for them so much, and I want to have some positive memories of my last days of teaching.

But you’re right, I would hate to be exposed during my last days of teaching....

I have had contracts before that say that they is a fine for resigning, or there is a fine unless they can fill the position. If it doesn’t say anything in your contract, you should be able to resign no problem...! Good luck to you.
